Its fact that all the house mates have to wear microphones all the time they are awake, and when they go into the dairy room they are still wearing the microphone, so why is there another " standing" microphone next to them, what is the need? does any body know?

Is there any truth in the rumour that the selection panel of Big Brother were heavily encouraged to pick a disabled person this time?

We'll see when it starts, Kat! No-one knows yet!

They have the standing microphones as backup, and also for "wild sound" or "atmospheres" rather then just people talking.

There is another microphone in the Diary Room for backup. For example. if a person's microphone has failed or broken, they need to go get a replacement, so if they're talking to Big Brother and the microphone isn't working, how else would we hear them!

Technicallyt hey could make it in widescreen and jsut pillarbox the 4:3 material (channel 4 seem to be very good at this- the only channelt hat is) but guesses arethat it will be 4:3 as I doubt they will show half the footage widescreen and half the footage pillarboxed- the cameras on the wall are basically CCTV cameras and aren't capable of 16:9, and the majority of the cameras in the house are like this, adn C4 don't seem to like cropping either. Also, compare the BB Break bumber and the picture on the BBnhomepage. The picture on the homepage is the same as the breakbumper (Bar the colours), but with more picture on the top and bottom (same amount as if you took the break bumper in letterbox and imaigne there is picture behind the bars). I could say the camcorder footage being 4:3 could be a signt he show will be, but this is channel 4 and they have a tendency to show things in the right format (shame the other channels, esp the BBC can't) and most camcorder footage is 4:3 (Granada are off their heads making YBF 16:9) so they might be shoing it this way anyway. THE BB Break Bumper cuold be a sign, but it could just be that they can't be bothered switching to 4:3 to show it (the eye does look a little oversized). We'll just have to wait and see really.

Nice to see they haven't changed their sponsorship. Will we be seeing horse and fruit in the sponsor ads this year? I liked them last year.

If they are low quality already, then whey they are arc'd the picture would look worse than it is. If you've ever tried it, you'll know what it looks like and how horrid it can be.

It's not a case of cost, it's the problem that CCTV kit is currently not in widescreen, meaning availability issues rather than cost.

My point was more that there isn't the issue of loosing resolution on pro-quality images. The way that arcs work anyway is to calculate the new information for each line, not only taking the neighbouring lines into account, but also surrounding feilds/frames. As such, the resolution loss isn't always noticable and should not lead to compounded errors.

Having said that, we are bound to see the disgusting compounded errors on the digital platforms anyway, which was the reason I never watched Eden... but thats a different story!

I don't think anybody know the answer to this James! It was reported on DS that Horse and Fruit would not be in the sponsorship ads, however that report has since been removed. I went to the BB site yesterday and on the forum that question was asked funnily enough, and 'Pete' claimed H&F were NOT in the sponsorship ads.

However, this site http://www.mobiles.co.uk/big_brother.html claims they are.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

There was no sponsorship on the E4 programme last night.

Well call me daft but I thought the "To Be Continued" bit was referring to Big Brother itself! Confused
