I happened to see them last night and after about 45 minutes they were being repeated.

As to why they repeat them, it's not just as easy as putting them together and showing them, they first need to be dubbed onto broadcast tape, then edited together which you have to digitise the material into an Avid which takes time, blur any large logos on shops/clothing, before putting the thing together into various parts, adding the scrollers and put it out to a final tape.

It could take at least a day to do 45 minutes worth, so presumably each "day" will have a different batch.

I have to say I'm really enjoying seeing all the audition tapes on E4 ... nice idea and makes me realise what a load of twats they have to sift through to get down to the last few.

couldn't have put it better myself! Lol!

God, do some people have NO shame?

I rang Channel 4 a few minutes ago and they said that they could only guarantee E4 on DTT until the 24th of May. They said they wanted to keep it going for as long as possible but if there is no news about buyers for ITV Digtial they'll pull the channel off the platfiorm.

Has that trans-sexual woman who was once known as James Harries (prepubescent antiques expert with cotton wool-type hair) been accapted? I keep hearing conflicting stories about him.

Wasn't he the one on 'Wogan'? And also did something for the Big Breakfast?

A real wierdo if there ever was one!

Kat, no-one knows who has been chosen to go in the house yet, and no one will know until it all begins on Friday 24th. If a BB Housemate is revealed to the press or whatever then they are immeadiately disqualified.

Any news on whether the new series will be in widescreen? Confused:
I thought the moving of the house would have been a good time to make the transision.

It is possible, however am i right in saying widescreen cameras cost more than 4:3 ones?

Plus with BB Interactive, I think 4:3 would work better. Don't forget most of the cameras used on BB are just like security cameras really.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that it's not in widescreen because of the camera equipment they use. Whilst the man-operated cameras are capable of widescreen, the other cameras are normal standard CCTV cameras, which because CCTV is not widescreen and nor does it need to be, they can't give widescreen pictures without being cropped.

The fact that the CCTV cameras are low quality anyway, they could easily be arc'd to 16:9 without any noticable resolution lost. There would be no problem doing that so long as the camera operators were aware of the 16:9 safe area.
Other than that, there is no particular reason that widescreen cameras should cost more than 4:3 ones other than the fact that they are newer.

If they are low quality already, then whey they are arc'd the picture would look worse than it is. If you've ever tried it, you'll know what it looks like and how horrid it can be.

It's not a case of cost, it's the problem that CCTV kit is currently not in widescreen, meaning availability issues rather than cost.
