Having read and studied Nineteen Eighty Four in depth, I would love a new BB series that drew more inspiration and ideas from the novel and whole concept.

Difficult that one legally I suppose - they've been court cases disassociating the programme with the book, but yet they use things like Room 101 quite happily - and last years titles were full of references to the book.

Incase your wondering i am "blackgloves" there.

Wouldnt C4 be better off airing BB from late June - September, that way they may get good ratings over the whole of August, which tends to be a bad period. Like BB1 was.

Well, they're virtually up to the last week in August now anyhow. If the show returns to it's May bank holiday start it'll probably stay on air till the last week of August. Basically then the regular slot will be from the May bank holiday to the August bank holiday.

P.S. Yes, I do like bbuksite.net - that is the site I'd used mostly during CBB - but as they've all revamped, I've forgotten which is which!

BBUK Site had issues in CBB5 with something but in BB7 they were excellent and certainly in the run up to CBB5 they were in a different league to all other sites. It reopened today.

Not really much reporting though, the news won't probably start coming for a few weeks.

A week out - it reached the 18th last year.

Ultimately it's inevitable that the show will reach 100 days within the next couple of years considering they're just a week off it at the moment - and hence will run probably from the end of May right through to the end of August.

Yep, that's how I worked out which site it was. Even with their issues in CBB5, they still did a pretty decent job.

Personally though I don't use the UK based forums (other than DS:BB - and I rarely use them during the season) as I get fed up of hearing the same old moans about Davina and co. or having to fish through the threads arguing about who's being edited fairly or who's the biggest bitch since Margaret Thatcher etc.

As well as the discussions we have here, I do virtually all my posting related to BBUK at http://forum.behindbigbrother.com - an Australian site where the interest is generally much more in the show itself, rather than a popularity contest between the HMs.

Anyhow, before we find this thread becoming a BB fansite, time to go and watch C4's other reality show - the little hyped but quietly praised Shipwrecked!

I'd like to see it start in June and end in September - that might be a good idea considering how much work they have to do.

Rumours are emerging of a “huge” house swap between Big Brother UK and Big Brother Australia.

This article is to be taken with a pinch of salt. Hell, heaps of salt. This ‘leak’ was sent to us by an anonymous email and other sites have received it too. We’re not convinced, but it makes for an interesting read.

Endemol UK and Endemol Southern Star (Australia) are rumoured to be currently in talks to perform the “biggest twist in reality TV history”. The twist involves a huge house swap which will - allegedly - happen five weeks after Big Brother has first broadcast in the UK.

This is the gist of the ‘leak’.

The twist would see all housemates and even Davina swap countries with the Australian housemates and host.
On the Friday the housemates would leave their country and fly by plane to the other country, landing Saturday night and entering the house just like housemates would on a normal launch night, but with Gretel Killeen hosting in Britain and Davina McCall in Australia.
After the show the lines would open for the person you want to evict out of the new housemates.

Sounds ridiculous and unbelievable but it's spreading. It's on the TiBB forums too.

I don't think it's ever been rumoured that ALL the housemates AND Davina swap with another country. Nor do I think it's been rumoured about one Aussie housemate staying with us and one UK housemate staying with the Aussie's.

But I agree the 'swap' rumour's always brought up one way or the other, just never to this extreme. I can't see how it'd work with time differences.

Yeah your right, its just everytime i hear about Oz and UK swap i think here we go again - id love it to happen.

The article is very over the top and the bit about the sponser shows its a fake as i think you cant do that with other countries.

But hey, go on Endemol do it - it would be interesting.
