It does sound familar - it's from two years ago and Shapiro is no longer on board!
Was going to say! lol
Anyway - BBUK Site is back (best BB fansite) and they already have aerial pictures and things. http://bbuksite.net/article/bb496.html
BB fever has begun!
Do you write for that site? It's certainly not the best fansite IMO.

It would certainly be different to now tired teasers that they've used for both BB6 and BB7 (swirling eye, forms a number, echoing voice tells us how many days are left
).
Having said that, I did like the BB7 adverts the most just because of the way the eye formed. I wonder what the eye will be like this year.

Well Network TEN are the best, very best at hyping up shows. Just look at Neighbours, last year you would have thought you were watching a crime thriller.
I hope they do something good for the BBUK promos, instead of just showing clips of the house. Have the door open, creaking, of the old house and then the camera comes in like a thriller, lights flickering, cobwebs, most of the old fittings have been removed. Big Brother speaks but its fuffled, like you are all confused and dazed. Then the camera pans to a portable tv in the middle of the room, and on the blink it will say "10 days" ect.
How does that sound?

BBUK tends to stick to the facts with the news and has some good features too - take their latest article, it's a bit of fun with a few mock up eyes but it gets you in the mood for the show in the absence of news. Other sites tend to waffle though DS:BB is good (in recent years it has gone downhill). Big Blagger is a good one also.

Certainly isn't a clear winner in the fansite stakes IMO - a handful are pretty good, but none are head and shoulders above the rest. Even DS:BB is nowhere near as good as it used to be

BBUK Site is rubbish, most of their news is taken from DSBB, they also take stuff posted on the DS Forums, i remember last year they put loads of untrue stories and quickly change it when someone pointed it out on DS.
:-(
Each to their own etc. What's your favourite?
I tend to stick with DSBB, as i think a lot of people do. BB+ was ok. One thing though is that when BB is actually on there not really getting anything exclusive are they. Its just reporting on whats going on in the house. DSBB Forum (WHATM Thread) is the best place to go.
Oh im a member of This is Big Brother forum, there TIBB main site is not that good sadly, but healthy number of people at the forum.

Having read and studied
Nineteen Eighty Four
in depth, I would love a new BB series that drew more inspiration and ideas from the novel and whole concept.
My ideal house would be much starker, more intimidating and would use to greater effect the idea of the "video walls" through which Big Brother speaks to the inhabitants of the real Orwellian land in the book.
Big Brother 5 succeeded so much because it took a totally new look at the concept and in being "evil" it took one of the prominent underlying themes of Orwell's work and exploited it in the house - whereas the succeeding series' have tried to emulate this and not succeeded as much. When those two girls - the Geordie one with the stud and the bolshie one - got sent to the secret flat it caused genuine surprise and anticipation - we'd never seen anything like that before. Now it's expected every season for them to copy that, and the whole splitting up the house thing really didn't work in BB3 so why they think doing equal 50:50 splits will work now is beyond me.
They need to stand back and think of a totally new method of using the whole housemate/Big Brother relationship. I'm pleased there's likely to be a new house because it at least is forcing them to make certain changes that will ultimately mean they have to plot out the whole series more carefully than last year which just seemed to be a rehash of the same "twists" as BBCs 5 & 6.

I was going to join them but someone seems to have nicked my username!
Difficult that one legally I suppose - they've been court cases disassociating the programme with the book, but yet they use things like Room 101 quite happily - and last years titles were full of references to the book.
