Could Ofcom have annouced this at a better time for Channel 4? Just as the 'racism row' was being forgotten, its back in the news thanks to Ofcom. Its all great publicity for the new series.
It seems odd that Ofcom want Channel 4 to publish a transcript of conversions that were never broadcast though. What has non-broadcast material got to do with the broadcasting regulartor?

I dont see no reason why anyone should resign. It gets on my nerves when news presenters ask this, not just in this case but in other cases over something so trivial.
If anything the bosses did us all a favour showing the stuff on BB because it has destroyed Jade.

I quite agree but the political pressure may be too much. Channel 4 are begging for funding from the government and trying to avoid being privatised in the process. Its political interference but this governmet doesn't care - not while it has Ofcom to do its dirty work.

OFCOM are quite happy to hold a programme to account on the basis of just one complaint, but don't seem to have the balls when 50,000 complaints are in the wrong!
I'm all slightly confused by this - it seems C4 are being forced to apologise for something they never broadcaster - and I question whether that something is actually racist at all. Certainly far more racist talk was used in the discussion of the fallout.
At least C4's own review seems to have been proactive and looking for genuine ways to improve the situation, not somewhere to pin-point blame.
And the best news of all - the possible return of Right to Reply. It's been much missed in recent years!

Unless im mistaken - they would have been wrapped by Ofcom for showing it, but can still be told off for not showing it?
