Davina can be annoying sometimes, but I dread to thing what will happen if they get a new person to present it. It wouldn't be the same.

You're right - It would be a huge improvement. She's become such a parody of herself It's like watching an impersonation of her. How can she the most important aspect of the show? Surely it's the housemates? Her job is to simply interview them yet she does it appallingly. Rolling Eyes

The producers of the X Factor had the balls to get rid of the equally awful Kate Thornton so hopefully the BB producers will take inspiration and get rid of Davina. Saying that though it doesn't really matter anymore, everyone but the producers can see the show is dead so it won't be around for much longer. She might as well go down with the ship.

I've never really liked Davina but have slowly come to accept her over the past 7 years, and I now feel she's become so much a part of the show that I wonder if it would lose too much of its original identity without her.

The one thing I do give her credit for is that she herself is a big fan with a great passion for the show, and connects well with the fans because of this.

Her judgement is sometimes badly wide of the mark, though, and the lowpoint for me came during Grace's interview in BB7, when instead of asking tough questions of probably the most hated housemate in BB history, she got all sycophantic and fluffy with questions like "I love your boots - where did you get them?"

The problem with Davina is she rushes everything. There's no build up to things anymore its so badly structured and she merely goes through everything at a rate of knots.

I wonder whether Big Brother would work if they drastically shorten the series to 2 weeks perhaps plus a couple days? I'm a Celebrity seems to work quite well using that length, and I believe does quite well in the ratings.

Dredging up the 'back to basics' idea, if Big Brother wanted to go down that route they could always take it a bit literally. By that I mean have no electrical items in the house which the house mates can use (eg. no cooker, no refrigerator, no shower). Whilst they're at it they could ban house mates from taking make-up into the house.

After series four I believe ratings had been bad, so they did something 'drastic' to try and increase ratings, by making Big Brother 'evil'. The 'evil' aspect with twists etc. seems to have run out of steam, so if they wish to continue the show they need to try something different to get views.

I wonder what this new E4 January Sereis will be like maybe another Teen BB (it did'nt go down well the first time), International/Euro Big Brother or Big Brother All Stars? I cant see what else they can do. The reason they are doing the auditions early may have something do with this.

Davina is annoying and she has shown that Big Brother is all she can do, or rather all she get's away with

Hence when Davina's strange over the top interview technique transferred over to BBC1, it was a flop

Yeh I totally agree. She has got very bad judgement of what the viewing public think if housemates, although that could be down to the fact that she doesn't read newspapers, which she is particularly proud of. And that can be annoying for the viewer who wants their questions answered through Davina.

I have to say that she does her job professionally. It must be extremely difficult to handle live television, on Friday nights, with all the cameras and routines. Yet she does it with barely any mistakes.

I'm personally fine with her. What I do find weird and annoying is when she appears on programmes like Question Time or chat shows. Why do it?
