So now we're being told Emily won't be coming to the final.

Anyone think this is an amazing case of double standards by C4 - making her public enemy no. 1 (when if they wanted to prove they were serious about not tolerating racism, they could have turned the incident to their advantage and delivered a hard moralistic lesson), while hero-worshipping and doing everything they can to keep the real villain - Charley - in the series?

C4 is actively endorsing bullying - in its own treatment of Emily, and its hero-worship of Uchea. I hope Emily gets somewhere in her official complaint to C4, though I suspect it will probably be viewed as sour grapes.

Thats disgusting that Emily won't be able to come to the finale. I agree, equally Charley shouldn't turn up if thats their case. Mad

The thing that is missing on the picture above is the house!
Its in the right hand corner, theres a concrete triangle. Thats the watertank, the house is built on it. Just shows that shot was taken at least 6 years ago.

Sorry, but I just wanted to drag this matter up from a couple of weeks ago.....

The repeat of BBLB on Channel 4 this morning had a very strange edit. It was about 4 minutes in, just after the BBLB News.

On the 'live' E4 version on Friday, Dermot introduced Ewan Macintosh (or "Ewan Macintosh - AKA Keith from The Office" to give him his full name) and the camera did a whip pan (I think thats what its called, the camera moved quickly from Dermot to Ewan Macintosh).

On this mornings repeat, they cut out the whip pan. Why would they do this? It makes no sense. I can't believe it was done for time (it saved all of 1 second).

Anyone else see it and know why it happened?

EDIT: Just watched this again and in fact, it didn't save anytime at all. They stuck a shot of the audience in place of the whip pan. The thing that made it an obvious edit is that they used the sound from the audience footage instead of the sound from the original. It makes even less sense. Please tell me someone else saw this.

EDIT: Although no one seems to care about this, the E4 repeat of BBLB used the same edited version as Channel 4 used this morning.

Just saw today's E4 repeat of BBLB from yesterday, and they've been at it again!

They edited out 4 more whip pans at the very beginning where Dermot introduces the guests (Mel Blatt from All Saints, and then the family and friends). Here is how it was originally broadcast.

This time the edits were even more shoddy, and the sound jumped.

I'd love to know why they're doing this! Any ideas anyone? My only guess is that it's something to do with the fast moving images triggering photosensitive epilepsy - but if that's the case they should tell the cameramen not to do the whip pans in the first place!

It seems to be something which only affects the repeated editions. Possibly some form of iffy compression causing breakup on the recordings? Or that their designed to be played out on the lower bandwidth channels and don't want breakup from that?

I didn't see this example but the cuts I posted about last time where on the Channel 4 morning repeat and the E4 afternoon/evening repeat too, so the channel its shown on seems to be irrelevant.

Could it just be someone keeping themself in a job? Some editor just editing things for the sake of it (but not very well)?

I'm not sure if this is the same thing but on the repeat of Gerry's eviction the moment he left the house the picture looked really motion blurred.
