They would never do that. As has been said here before, Big Brother pays for the rest of the year that Big Brother isn't on (about 2 weeks then ) so that will be why they are desperate for BB to work at all costs

Channel 4's audience share is also significantly down on last year due to all this year's big shows also being big shows last year (such as Deal or no Deal) so not being able to cover for the general decrease that all channels face year on year

They should have the BB House and gallery open as a tour for 4 weeks after BB has finished, im sure that would make them a fair amount of money.

Makes you wonder how they managed to keep going before 2000!


But does C4 not realise how much it is alienating more intelligent members of its audience by continuing its populist slide? If this year's big shows are causing the audience decline, doesn't that tell them we need something new?

I've always found it galling that Big Brother has always used the same font as C4's on-air presentation - as if to subliminally say to the viewers that C4 exists only to show Big Brother and all other programmes are just coincidental. If they must recomission BB, this strategy at least should be reconsidered.

Which would probably just about cover the extra hire costs of all the equipment in the gallery & house, and the staff to look after it in the interim and during tours.

Never thought i'd say this, but Endemol and Chnl 4 could abuse and then dominate this sat night slot by doing a special BB programme. The beeb and ITV have got it so wrong.

Hardly the same thing. At least C4 News is one thing they can still be proud of.

Well there was a Saturday Show a few years back where they incorporated a "live" task to be done. Not sure what the ratings were or the logistics behind it as it was certainly short lived.

And the Saturday highlights show was axed for bad ratings - though I think giving C4 a Big Brother free-night was probably also an important factor.


The Saturday highlights show was pointless though as it only covered the build up to what we saw live 24 hours earlier.

Much better arrangement now with the Sunday show picking up from after the eviction. The main things that happen during the day now on Fridays are the recording of the podcast and the On the Couch psych experiment.

A bit of comedy injected into tonights show - at last! "Can I have my ball back please?"

Apparently two former BB contestants are now being added to the mix. It's getting really desperate now.
