I would love to see Alan Carr host BBLB, and JLC fronting BBBM. Very Happy

Then you must have seriously bad taste!

Alan Carr has his own new show coming up anyhow - and isn't the right sort of presenter for BBLB at all - and hasn't got a strong enough personality to cope with BBBM.

JLC - he'd probably do an OK job on Big Mouth, but he wouldn't be my choice at all!

It's not a bad taste, just a different taste to you.

That said, its only a silly Whats On TV poll. A magazine that supposedly parades EastEnders as its top soap.

Not anymore it doesnt! Corrie has actually got the top storyline more weeks than EE this year!

Shock, horror. Shocked

I think Lauren would be a good choice of presenter.

No - but loads of rumours flying around.

Firstly, it's been confirmed that Big Brother's Big Brain has been axed. No surprise really as this was a sweetner for Dermot with BBLB moving to E4, but with Dermot likely to leave after BB8 when he takes over on The X Factor, C4 have no reason to keep him happy. Presumably Mondays BBLB will therefore return.

And the rumour mill, mainly courtesy of BBUKsite.net and BBSpy.co.uk

Arrow Big Brother 8 will launch on Thursday 24th May. doesn't take a genious - Peep Show etc. are scheduled to end on Fri 18th May, so BB beginning the week after is pretty obvious
Arrow It will last for twelve weeks and one day and will finish on Friday, 17th August. speculation - Kevin Lygo said it wouldn't be more than last years 93 days - though he didn't say it would be shorter as often misreported in the press. I'm holding out for the full 13 weeks myself.
Arrow Big Brother will not be going back to basics. probably true
Arrow The 'Red button' live feed will be available on Sky, cable and Freeview. cable and sky almost certain - more hope than expectation with Freeview - I think they'll keep Film4+1 myself
Arrow There will be either 13 or 14 housemates entering on launch night. It is still undecided. well, that's pretty obvious

Arrow The main rumour doing the rounds is that the show will be branded Big Brother: The Battle, and develop the idea of the divide from BB3 to the extent most European countries did at the time, with one rich house and one poor house. Producers have already gone on record claiming this series will be "very different".

Although perhaps they should have done it sooner, I wouldn't mind seeing the Rich-Poor idea explored further as I think we only touched the surface of it in BB3. I personally liked the twist alot, but alot of people claim they didn't. However, BB3 is still by far the highest rated series, averaging close to 6m viewers compared with around 4.5m for other series.

Arrow Finally, the newest rumour is that the jackpot will increase by ten-fold to £1m - making it the biggest Big Brother jackpot in the world.

Frankly, i think this is far too long. If BB wants the viewers, it needs to be un-edited to death, Shorter and broadcast snippets of the housemates slagging others off and all that. That is what the British Public want too see and talk about, not the drivel that is usally broadcast about what they had for breakfast and why they were crying this morning.

Yes last years was too long IMO - it got a bit boring around the time the housemates from the house next door went into the main house but did pick up during the final 2 weeks. I think 9-10 weeks is about right.

I missed the last 2 weeks of BB last year as I went away but from what I saw it was just doing my head in - especially when that spoilt posh bint Grace came back.

Didnt like Grace much either.

If BB starts on 25th May I will miss the 2nd week as i'll be on holiday. If I dont warm to any of the people this year that will be a good point to give up watching.

Alan Carr is on the Paul O' Grady show next week, hopefully announcing he will co-present BBLB/BBBM

I like the idea of a £1M prize, but perhaps also have something like the old prizes of £70K and £100K for the 3rd and 2nd places.

It will certainly make the competition more interesting with so much money at stake, and it's not like Endemol can't afford it. I know it will be the highest BB prize worldwide, but I think we are currently the lowest at £100K.

i was never a fan of the rich/poor house idea i just think it split the house up (obiously) but too much, in that instead of a group as a whole with people making clicks of their own ( thus making it more bitchy IMO) they were forced with people ! plus i find the idea of bars in the house again unberable as its a nice interior
