C4 seem to be making an effort, so perhaps I'll watch without the critical frame of mind I've had for the last few years.
I'm afraid I can't ever watch a programme like this without a critical frame of mind.
I fear this series will yet again be full of gimmicks and excitement for the grand opening and then for the majority of the weeks they'll just leave housemates to get on with it and we'll see the usual.. "Day 43: Sunshine is in the seating area sowing.." especially with the tightened rules and regs as ever, but who knows perhaps they'll just let it all hang out this year and throw in everything (including Graham and the guy with specs! )
Either way, it certainly deserves a great send off and the return of ex-series housemates fighting it out throughout the last few weeks sounds really interesting.

Love the end credits background this year as well - though I suspect last night might be the last time it's played out clean. Strange though how they kept the C4 font for the credits of the main show but for everything else they're using a new font more in line with the carnival theme.
Only 4 days in but my god this is about 10 times better than the bore fest we had last year. Great house, great housemates, great tasks, and a great mystery in the past few days with the mole too. Ratings will probably not go up, but I'm sure that a lot of people will enjoy this series a lot more than last years.
It usually takes me at least a week to work my way in to and get hooked; but the mole twist has done that.
I like the fact they've added a 'Previously' - mainly because I have a memory like a siv and its nice for the little reminder... It's nice to see a 'Next Time' segment too - Hope they continue with this!
I agree - though with the introductions Marcus still manages to use 600 words when one would do - but I think they're important for BB because many people don't watch it night in night out - and it's much better than the usual spiel Marcus would give us during the show explaining something that happened yesterday.
On the whole though a much better group of HMs and a much more engaging launch twist - though once again I think they've rushed it to a conclusion when it could probably with a bit more thought could have played out for most of the first week.
Though I'm glad Mario is staying there should have been consequences for the HMs not identifying the mole correctly because it was obvious as Mario was liked they wouldn't put him at risk of eviction.
At the end of Big Brother Live on E4 at 5pm the part of the end credit board which usually has the Channel 4 logo on the right instead showed the old E4 logo animation:

Edit 15th June: fixed it now.
Thought it was worth sharing as I would have thought E4 would have stopped using it by now as it doesn't fit in with the current branding.
On tonights episode, they had a England/Germany penalty shoot out. When they played the English national anthem, the camera moved across the housemates singing in a similar style to television football coverage. It looked like it was a handheld/steadicam that was actually in the house and right in front of the housemates, some of them even looked straight at it. It was edited quite a bit so we didn't see the camera go in to the house or the housemates reaction to it or any shots from other cameras that would have revealed the cameraman. Mind you, the German Big Brother house seemed to have a presenter in it!
