Is Makosi off the hook now with all this unlucky housemate stuff or will she be treated badly till she gets kicked out?

What more is Big Brother plotting this year? Does anyone know?

It's been a great series so far! Lots of interesting characters but disappointing to see that some, like Vanessa, lied for their audition to get in.

It's a shame Sam isn't up for the chop - she really adds nothing to the show, and despite what she thinks, doesn't look too great in a bikini!

I agree. I believe she has had a boob job? But the big question is:-

Did she have any boobs to have a job done in the 1st place? Laughing

Can't see any improvements myself! Come on Saskia - you go girl!

Well, BB has been kind enough to put Cherry Tango on the shopping list today - for £50!!! Unlucky!

I heard that the 13th housemate was going to have "the unluckiest time of their lives" for the entirety of their stay.

Still unsure - though rumours suggested this was dropped due to accusations of bullying and also giving Makosi an unfair advantage.

Instead, each week a different HM will be the "unlucky" target.

Not sure if that would work as well - I think each phase of "unluckiness" (if that's a word!) will need to be quite different!

On to tonight's eviction - awful result with Mary going (probably my fault - having tipped her to be the first out last week earlier this week I named her as a possible winner!)

From a presentation point of view - the new studio is nice and though not as intimate as having the friends and family sat around, the studio audience were kept under control.

However, they need to move the eviction announcements back inside the studio. Once again the suspense was ruined (for housemates and viewers alike!) by the crowd pre-empting Davina announcing the evictee with chants of Mary!

I agree, especially as she only got one nomination. She was the only one I found remotely interesting, BB has shot itself in the foot already. The show lives or dies solely by the character of the contestants, not the stupid gimmicks they have every year. If they get it badly wrong, as they came close to doing in BB4, it will be a disaster and the tabloids will bite the hand that feeds it.

I'm personally glad Mary went, because she just seemed to be moaning 24/7 and was getting very boring viewing! I think she could have been intresting if she didn't stay in bed all day the other day and constantly moan... tis a shame

I'm sure the shots they show between each scene are longer this year (you know, the 'quick' shot of the shower, toilet roll, garden, etc which link the scenes together). I find them quite irritating now.

I also find the crackly noise which is played whenever a 'super' comes on screen to be very distracting, particularly on BBLB when the interviewee's name appears. The sound sometimes drowns out what is being said.

I think your right on both points - though the noise on the graphics is fine on the main BB shows, it's annoying when used on all graphics!

Moving on - last night's counting challenge was brilliant. It's great to see Big Brother has kept a bit of personality rather than it's completly "neutral" attitiude of earlier years.

The twist to it is also promising, with Saskia becoming Big Brother and posing questions to the HMs in the diary room, which she can view via a secret monitor in the toilet.

A short update from Media Guardian, the full article is not yet available:

The Big Brother studio was at the centre of a bomb scare. Army officials were called in after a suspicious package was found. More soon...

This mirrors the scare during BB4.

Okay, more information from Digital Spy:

A Big Brother 4 style evacuation was nearly needed at the Big Brother house today, BBC News reports.

At lunchtime production staff found a suspect package and raised the alarm.

A bomb disposal team from the army were called but once the package was x-rayed it was found to be harmless.

The housemates were not made aware of the alert.
