Channel 4 have signed a contract for two more series of BB, BB7 and BB8, I think this includes two mores series of Celebrity BB as well. There will be no BB6 DVD this year, just the book, although as part of the new contract, a DVD should be released for the next series.
Why is there no BB6 DVD being released this year?
DVD rights have been given to a tabloid (The Sun IIRC).

From what I gather from other forums, sales from BB4 DVD was so poor that the DVD was dropped from BB5. There will be no DVD for 6 although they are testing the waters with a book and I'm sure if the book sells well that there will be a book and DVD from 7 onwards.
A good programme tonight - a much nicer note to end a brilliant series on than last night's final which was marred by the booing of Makosi and the rushed ending!
I think the Big Brother final differs every year but not always in a good way. They usually miss something out! This year it appears to be the Bank graphic for the winners fund. I also think they miss the following:
1. The house in Bow
2. The indoor interviews for final night (i.e. BB2's final night was brilliant, each contestant walked across the bridge, through the press, onto the stage for the crowd, then ushered down into the small studio where friends and family were.) (Remember the video wall that was the studio entrance? It parted to let Davina out)
3. The music that accompanied the evictee. (This only happened on BB2 but was really effective. The producers picked a piece of music that was played over while the evictee walked down the long runway along the side of the house. The music evidently fitted the character of the housemate) (This was used in all evictions).
4. The onscreen graphic that counted down the doors of the house opening, again last seen on BB2.
5. Proper announcements by the Big Brother voice when someone is evicted, including that lovely dramatic music they play every week. I think that this music should be played in the house and to the audience, not just TV viewers. The announcer this year was weak, and said 'Eugene you have been evicted', rather than saying, as they did in BB2, 'Helen, you have finished second. Please leave the Big Brother house'.
I think that is pretty much it.
Ooo, they should have on-screen graphics for the nominations each week too. I often lose track of who's leading and how close people came to becoming nominated each week. Just a picture of the housemate nominated at the bottom of the screen, together with the obvious number of nominations.
They should also tell us the actual result of the voting, not just the outcome, i.e. why not actually show us like a pie-chart that tots up the votes when someone is evicted. Viewers have to look on the BB interactive service on Sky to find out the %'s.
Sorry about the length of this post, I have been meaning to rant about suggestions for BB for ages, but never got round to it!
Shame they couldn't continue with the DVD's, I began collecting them, but obviously the hobby was cut short after BB3. Surely they must of realised the low popularity of the the BB4 DVD was because the series was boring. How does that justify cutting the BB5 DVD?! That was one of the best series in my opinion!
They obviously didn't want to risk it last year which is sensible for them, but of course we lose out, I was so looking forward to the DVD last year and this year, but I guess the book makes up for it a little bit. If the book does well, we get a DVD next year guys! So buy the book!
