I always thought that the E4 feed had a 20 minute delay during the day, but when Davina talks to the house it is the live and direct feed. As far as I know, when the nomination results are on BBLB, they use the E4 feed.
But I don't see why they need to silence it, as it's after the Watershed.

The delay is more like 10 seconds than 10 minutes. BBLB went into a little room last year to show where all the dubbing of sound comes from. All they do is press the off button for the
sound
if they
hear
something they can't broadcast, or press the off button for the
video
if they
see
something they can't broadcast. 10 minutes isn't needed, its just a flick of a switch.
And about it saying 9.15pm on the highlights show, instead of 9.25pm, tonight's highlights were a perfect example. It said it was 9.29pm when Science said the others were hungry, not starving, but then immediatley afterwards BB said the housemates could leave the living room. But I know it was around 9.45pm when BB said they could leave because I was watching streaming then.
So on the highlights show, they put the time of the first thing you see, then anything after it is edited, rather than in perfect chronological order. If that makes any sense

Nope yellow, there is a delay of 15 Miniutes on the live feeds.
One person watchs the real time feed, and fills in a form of when something happens and when something is to be cut. Then another person is sitting next to them watching the delayed feed, they have the controls to cut sound and/or vision, works through the forms and cuts out the times which have been written down. This way its far more accurate!
The only thing that is real time live this year if the inserts in the eviction shows - even though the eviction shows are delayed themselves.

The E4 streaming is a 15 minute delay.
The eviction shows are now 100% live as they are post-watershed. The reason for the time difference last night was due to some footage being shown of HMs ahead of the announcement.
In series 3 and 4 the 8.30pm had a delay of 15 minutes (reduced to 5 minutes later in series 4).

Has anyone else noticed that since Lesley left bitching has dropped quite a bit
I think they have a good mixture this year but possibly the first year a "gay" character hasn't been that popular like Anna or Brian in earlier series, Dan even got to the final 3 last year, I don't think any of them will this year

I think it's more linked to most the HMs spending the time in individual boxes - though that didn't stop the bitching!
I think the challenge though has made people re-evaluate their opinion of each other - with Craig especially getting alot more respect from the other HMs.
It was also good to see that with Derek and Roberto boxed in, the others could manage quite happily in the kitchen - and many were relieved to get the opportunity!

That wasn't the main reason - they orginally put in the delay because of the technical problems they were having doing live eviction shows in 3 and 4 - the 10 miniutes allowed them to cut out any of this.
