BIG BROTHER 2005

So Big Brother 2005 begins in May and this time will run for 15 weeks (more than double the previous series), right the way through until September. Rumours are rife and one big one is that this year, Big Brother's getting worse. I hope so, more evil can only be a good thing!

Open auditions have begun:
Arrow Edinburgh - Saturday 5th February 2005
Arrow Newcastle - Saturday 12th February 2005
Arrow Dublin - Wednesday 16th February 2005
Arrow Manchester - Saturday 19th February 2005
Arrow Cardiff - Wednesday 23rd February 2005
Arrow Birmingham - Saturday 26th February 2005:
Arrow London - Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th March 2005
If you are interested, you can find more information at channel4.com/bigbrother.

If BB5 was anything to go by, this year should be a corker! The schedule should be something like this:
Exclamation 30 minute update shows at 10pm Mon-Fri.
Exclamation Nothing on Saturday
Exclamation Psychologist 60 minute show on Sunday at 9pm.
Exclamation Eviction shows at 8.00pm + 10.00pm on Friday.

I don't think there should be any evictions until about Week 3. Or perhaps the house could be split, and then after three weeks, the houses could merge? I also think the concept of hidden rooms should be more prominent, and weekly tasks should be overhauled.

They will obviously be searching for characters that will undoubtably clash etc. What are your views/suggestions on this years' Big Brother?

interesting there is an audition in dublin - and there were always letters from the irish republic on 15-1, so i presume viewership of channel 4 in eire is fairly decent?

is there a home-grown version of BB on irish telly - or do the irish watch on channel 4 ... or is the ch4 version shown on irish tv?

I think the UK Terrestrial channels are well recieved in the Republic of Ireland, IIRC UTV is one of the most popular channels after RTÉ One. Plus I think that Brian Dowling (BB2 winner) was from Dublin.

Well I for one just can't want for Big Bollocks to come back and clog the schedules again. In the meantime I will keep myself busy by watching the next best thing, watching paint dry.

I noticed in Celebrity Big Brother they kept pointing Irish viewers to an alternative telephone/text number.

I too am fed up with Big Brother, I started to get bored with it during series 4, and hardly watched series 5. If its running for 15 weeks this year im not watching.

If I'm honest, i got bored with Big Brother half way through Season 1. Les Dennis once said in a TV Interview "What is the world coming to!? It has gotten to the point in TV where we are sitting on sofas...watching people sit on sofas"

I couldn't agree more. Big Brother is complete tat! Fair enough if it took up half an hour a day, but it dosen't. It takes up almost all of the Channel 4 Schedule, and ALL of E4s schedule it seems. And it always clogs up the tabloids, websites and internet forums too. You can't keep away from it, argggh!

I read from the paper that Big Brother 5 had a massive amount of viewers from Northern Ireland.

I'm quite upset that they are not coming to Belfast, unlike last year.. but you can't get everything your way Laughing

I went to the Auditions in Edinburgh and there was over 100 people by 8am. Auditions began at 9. Over the course of the day they saw over 1000 people by the time the local evening paper appeared at 5pm.

They're very picky this year and looking for quite outrageous people. I didn't get past the first stage... but my god you've got to be really outrageous. Try no clothes.
