This year's Big Brother will begin on Tuesday, 5th June at 9pm.

Bit of a weird day to start it, but with it being the end of the bank holiday weekend and 5th June no doubt being full of programmes about the Queen it will be good escapism.

Not happy that Alice Lavine is back for another series. Bar the Sunday gameshow, what does she bring to the party?

Pictures of the new house went live at midnight and well they said that you wouldn't recognise the new house from the old but, well you can. Most of the house is the same shape with the diary room still under the stairs. Pool in the same place. And where the kitchen was last year now just looks like a waste of space. I'm really disappointed.

I think the design is much cleaner, with the bedroom and bathroom in the Garden it means that there has been lots of changes, meaning the task room must be where the bedroom used to be. I'm still curious to find out what the large wooden thing is in the living room... http://www.bbspy.co.uk/images/uploads/bb2012_house06.jpg

as the dining table is in the garden:

Isn't the wooden thing the 'kitchen' and the indoor dining table to the right in the purple//blue/black room?

I like the house, its completely different to what has gone before but I wish they'd change the shape of the walls and room layout (even if they do change the room functions).

I think it's the other way around actually. It all looks nice enough, but frankly now it's got to a point where they can't do much more with BB houses as we've pretty much seen it all before. The design of the house though is probably the one and only thing I think has been better on C5 than C4.

So there is 2 dining tables then? Odd.

I'd like to see them gut it out one year and completely change it. Its hard to think it was the same house as BB3, but perfectly feasible to think its the same house as BB8 onwards. The earlier Channel 4 houses were nice but since BB7 they've relied too heavily on gimmicks. I'm glad Channel 5 have taken it back to the 'explosion in Ikea' era (to quote Pete Burns). But going against all of that, first and foremost its the housemates that make the series and the house is pretty secondary to that. I guess thats the producers thoughts.

Not really, its just like having a dining table and a patio table.

Blimey. This is on in less than an hour and this thread was almost off the bottom of the second page. It's not like the old days, is it?

Anyone watching the auditions show? I've not watched it for a while but feel like giving it another go this year. Some absolute crackpots auditioning, one of them being Emma Willis Laughing .

Hope the actual titles/graphics aren't the same as those on the auditions show. To say they've been done on a budget doesn't even begin to describe them.

I found it interesting that the auditionees didn't see Jamie East or his crew as being part of Big Brother. Some of the rejected auditionees were really angry with Big Brother but were happy to talk to Jamie East even though he is obviously working for the same production company and basically the same programme.
