Didn’t seem to work though, she missed the cue to turn to the next camera both times.

One observation, it’s amazing how big the clock used to be, compared to what we are used to now.

That's the biggest it was. Apparently it was made bigger at Johnny's request as the hosts used it to time check and it wasn't very clear previously.

It seemed to get bigger with every refresh in the Vaughan era.

I know the Johnny titles were bought in earlier in 2000, but was the decor fresh for the return of Denise? I like the design, it was very much big breakfast, but with lovely pastel tones. The only thing letting it down is lack of monitor surround design, though I suppose it fits with the set. This set only lasted until January. As was mentioned earlier so many relaunches over those years. It's odd now to think that this big fanfare was to welcome back Denise after 21 months away, not that long really.

It was refreshed a few weeks before. There was a clip on YouTube of the first day after the refurbishment where they commented on the smell of new carpet and the phone room being knocked through. With Johnny and Lisa Rogers I think (then Johnny was off with a bad back for a week possibly).

I remember said clip and Lisa Rogers said it was a weekend job as it didn’t look like that the week before. The green monitor was still there in the first week before they switched it to the widescreen one.

The phone room looks much nicer in that clip before they added all the army decoration.

Did Johnny do one day that week then before doing his back in? I always thought him and Denise were due to start the week before but it was put back due to well, his back, but maybe I'm getting confused with Johnny starting on the show back in 1997 which IIRC was pushed back a week due to the death of Diana.

In hindsight considering the revamp in Sept 2000 (plus the titles hadn't long been refreshed either) perhaps they should have just gone for continuity and stuck with Richard Bacon and Lisa Rogers without revamping the show.

I really hate the chicken titles. They were too dark and the music was trying to be too trendy.

Although Johnny was a great host I think they indulged him to much with those Johnny titles. The golden era for me will always be the ones immediately before them.

I quite liked them myself and think they've aged quite well especially compared to the final titles.

The final titles were dated in 2001. I think the 1997-00 titles have aged the best. In fact I'd still love to know how they were made as I have a feeling they weren't CGI.

Agree the flying breakfast titles have aged well as well, especially the second version.
