2001 was pretty much a formality, but obviously 1997 was a very significant moment in UK politics but I suspect given the hosts of the time (either Rick & Sharon or Richard & Denise - things changed around that point!) that little mention was made of it.

The day after the 1997 election was Sharron Davies' last day. not that I watched it at the time. I'd also abandoned it again by 2001 but I seem to remember it was one of the episodes presented by Chris Moyles, back when they were doing the pilot for the revamped one, and they mostly talked about Big Brother in it as it was in that show's imperial phase. Other than Gaby's self-consciously serious interview in the early days and the odd politician on the bed with Paula I don't recall the show ever discussing the news in any great depth, if at all really.

I remember huge enthusiasm when Prescott punched a voter. They had begun the turnaround to a more Vaughan-esq show by that stage so it was all along the lines of "makes you proud to be British", and with the clip of the punch leading into every single ad break the morning after. There was also the Star Turn election special (which I only know about as it was referenced in the final show) which included a giant Prescott Punch.

They even sung about Presott's punch a couple of times in the Friday song too.

I'm not sure when people remember 'The Big Breakfast' their first, second or even tenth thought is "politics". Even an alternative election night show needs some substance to it.

"The Big Brexit" could totally be a thing in about 18 months time...

Lets hope it'll be axed.

It'll have gone through two failed relaunches before the axe falls though.

Isn't this uploaded elsewhere on YT anyway? This guy's just nicking BB clips and slapping his own branding over them.

I'm pretty sure the first three parts haven't been on YT Before. I know the final part has been uploaded by someone else recently.
