They even had a special theme and titles.

Zig and Zag appeared to have been replaced by Charlie Stayt and Louise Minchin.

Zig and Zag did get a mention towards the end of the programme - apparently some viewers had started a campaign to bring them back! Laughing

Is the show available on iplayer?

I watched the last five minutes and no mention of Zig and Zag. Does anyone remember what was said?

I watched the last hour and no mention of Zig & Zag. What a dreary programme it is too.

It was from the last 5/10 minutes, with the last bit from social media presenter, mentioned only briefly.

A clip from February 1996 if you look from 15 seconds in, is that an early e-mail address on the phone card?

Yes, the email address was bigbreakfast@planet24.co.uk for a while, and there was a web page at bigbreakfast.planet24.co.uk for a brief period I think. The email address was used as far back as Gaby's era (without Chris).

Some footage of the white house from back in 1997 from the lock side, includes some footage of Denise hosting with her co-hosts 911.

Does anyone also remember the long 15 minute montage of the competition jingles that was posted some time ago? If anyone has that i'd like to hear that again!

Incidentally, that reminds me to raise a point relating to this photo of the house which has been posted previously:

*

A few years back I referred to it as an example of how quickly the house became very grubby looking. Not long after, I was making my TV show and this (drunkenly) came up in conversation came up at Made TV's 1st birthday party. Someone I spoke to was working on the BB around 96 and he said the house didn't become grubby - it always looked like that. In telly you can't have something brilliant white because it doesn't work on screen, particularly in broad daylight. So it was painted this drab colour as if it had been dipped in tea. As winter set in with lower lighting it looked awful so they didn't feature it so much - and it's one of the key reasons they changed the colour.
Hatton Cross and DE88 gave kudos

Still amazes me how they transformed the house in such a brief petriod. It probably is what got me interested in renovations - C4 probably got their money back on it through all the episodes of Grand Designs I've watched.

Are we sure the logo font was Kabal? If you compare the font and Kabel font, the points on the Kabel font are a diamond shape and the points on the BB font are circular.

Was thinking last week when C4's Alternative Election wasn't quite hitting the mark how an edition of "The Big Election" might have done the trick. Thinking about it though anyone remember the show doing much more than just their news bulletins for the elections. They only would have been on air for 1997 and 2001, with both taking place months after disastrous revamps for the show. 2001 was pretty much a formality, but obviously 1997 was a very significant moment in UK politics but I suspect given the hosts of the time (either Rick & Sharon or Richard & Denise - things changed around that point!) that little mention was made of it.
