No.
Was it the same theme they'd used for the Oscars special during the Johnny Vaughan years?
No.

What did it sound like?
The Large Breakfast theme was originally intended for the final titles but dropped at the last minute as they didn't think it gelled.

I saw the original airing and there was a clip on The Brekkie Network around the time it aired. The titles were the same, except at the end instead of the logo bursting out of the house, it faded up in a very old fashioned typeface. I'm pretty sure an audio clip existed on Bowlocks for a bit but not anymore.
Basically the hosts wore suits and the crew would just clap rather than cheer. It was a childish dig at those in the industry who were claiming its replacement would be a lot more muted as that was the way forward.

Yeah, I remember it being more grand and less glitzy than the Oscars theme Brekkie mentioned (which I liked too btw).
The best way I can describe it is The Big Breakfast theme played in the style of the theme from Keeping Up Appearances. It was fairly epic.

Thanks Whataday. I've got it on CD somewhere so i'll have a hunt around for that. I think I saved a lot of stuff from bow locks back in the day.
I believe the filename was the_large_breakfast.mp3 if that helps?

By using web archive ( http://web.archive.org/web/20060218020259/http://www.angelfire.com/ok/djrichieh/bbreak.html ) back to 2006 it shows that the file was provided by A user called Salsoul Nugget but the link unfortunately doesn't work anymore.
