The Chris Evanses and Johnny Vaughns you reference divided opinion, but they were the type of aforementioned "****head" that were renown for being loud and abrasive, in your face types of people. Therefore, that brand of ****headedness fit in with the style of The Big Breakfast which was, in itself, a loud and in-your-face show.

The T4 folks I reference are ****heads in my opinion because they were typically po-faced, bland and stuck up. Jameela, for one, is somebody who always looks unimpressed with everything, hardly ever smiles, and comes across like she's too good for whatever job she's doing. They lack the energy that Evans and Vaughn had, and would therefore be a horrible match for a show with a similar style to The Big Breakfast.

It was my mistake not to differentiate on the different brands of ****heads and not elaborate on why I think this particular brand of ****head wouldn't work. I hope I've now fully explained myself.

I'd also like to think I've fulfilled TV Forum's annual asterisk quota in record time.

I think the difference is, the enthusiasm they had for the format. You can always tell when someone's head and heart aren't in it, and it doesn't scan on screen.

Can anyone remember when this interview actually aired? Would be interesting to see what bits got played out.

If the description is to be believed, that video will disappear within a week, so get ripping if you want it forever.

The shed seemed to replace the bed for big celebrity interviews. They used to send a shed set to junkets if the celeb couldn't get to the house, and in the days of Paula/Lily/Vanessa they used to do the same with the bed (or chaise longues briefly in 1996).

With the clock going past 9am I can assume it's from a Christmas show?

I remember the Big Breakfast being on 8-10 on occasion and it being referenced in the Friday song at least once, perhaps a Good Friday.

Christmas week usually. It generally stayed 7-9 on Bank Holidays.

Quite a few observations in that show. Firstly the One Lump or Two pool in the background of the opening sketch which I think is from the summer of 1994. I thought it had been reused for Get Your Knobbly Nuts out a year later but it still has the One Lump or Two branding.

Secondly Mark was in the middle of a tour at that point and had a few weeks off (they had him on the phone as it was his birthday). Was Keith full time cover during that period?

And finally The Big Breakfast Breakaway which was the less remembered successor to Housey Housey. The prize was a holiday every year for the rest of your life so it would be interesting to know if that winner is still getting their holidays, assuming they're still around.

Yes, when Mark Little became full-time presenter in the summer of 1995, it was announced that Cheggers - who'd been doing two days a week since Richard Orford moved onto Down Your Doorstep - would stand in for Mark whenever he was away. Because Mark had already planned his Edinburgh run and a tour, that meant Cheggers actually presented more shows in the second half of 1995 than Mark.

I'm pretty certain the reason he arranged Edinburgh and the tour is that he assumed that, with the arrival of Richard Orford, he would have been dropped when his contract ran out, but as it turns out Orford didn't work out so Little was reprieved.
