Gaby Roslin refuses to rule out a return for The Big Breakfast
"I keep coming back, so who knows?"

Gaby Roslin has refused to rule out a return for Channel 4's morning programme The Big Breakfast.

The show ran for a decade from September 1992 to March 2002, and Roslin was one of its first presenters alongside Chris Evans.

Following the successful return of Evans's TFI Friday last year, Roslin was asked if the morning show could also be revived.

"I went on the last TFI Friday with Zig and Zag last year as a surprise for Chris Evans," the presenter told Metro.

"It was the first time the four of us had been together on screen in 21 years, and the Twitter response was amazing.

Evans left The Big Breakfast after just two years in 1994, with Roslin following two years later in 1996.

Presenters that followed included the likes of Dannii Minogue, Paul Ross, Zoƫ Ball, Johnny Vaughan, Denise van Outen, Liza Tarbuck and Kelly Brook.

About as much chance of this happening as Disney selling Mickey and changing its name to TVS.

If it did return for anything more than a one-off it would have to be with new blood - as much as I loved Chris and Gaby and Johnny and Denise I wouldn't want them to return in a permanent role. Guest hosting for a week might be fun though once the show is back on it's feet.

There's definitely a gap in the breakfast TV market for it.

My concern is it'd turn into some horrible T4-esque thing with arrogant d***heads insisting that their smug faces be the first one you see in the morning. But as manneqskev says, there is a blatant gap. Every breakfast TV outlet at the moment is driven solely by news.

I'm not sure you could accuse Milkshake of that!

Yeah, because Evans and Vaughan certainly were not smug, arrogant, attention hogging d***heads. Rolling Eyes

Here we go again ..
Let the show rest in peace.
Otherwise.

Campaign to bring back Big Breakfast..

Channel 4 crumble under foghorn voiced posters and tweeters and announce short 9 month trail run..

Show presenters announced - Chris Evans is 'busy' on other projects. Presenters are two virtual unknowns..

Show comes on air. Its not an exact replica of old BB. Same internet posters tear into Channel 4 for a bad job and don't watch it, as it doesn't have Chris Evans presenting.

Low viewing figures. Channel 4 don't extend the run beyond the 9 months...

One year later, internet and Twitter campaign starts for Channel 4 to back the Big Breakfast...

Yadda,Yadda,Yadda.. Rolling Eyes

Oh I'm aware. But you know what I mean, they were the brand of ****heads that fit into the energy of the show. I'm referring to people like Nick Grimface and smile-a-century Jameela whatshername.

Who, me? No thanks, Mr W.

Maybe I'm too much of a realist. I prefer to remember programmes at the top of its game, and leave it parked there, in its own time.

Not bring it back, and ultimately disappointing. (See Friday,TFI Channel 4, 2015)

That doesn't make a jot of sense. You're spectacularly contradicting yourself so, no, I don't know what you mean.

I agree that bringing back The Big Breakfast TFI Friday style would be a mistake.

That doesn't stop a new programme from borrowing the format, which hasn't happened since RI:SE v2 (which was poisoned by the fact it bore the brand of its failed predecessor).
