This is an example why writing down presenter rotas can be useful, as if someone had done so for the BB they'd now be a definitive list of who presented with who and when and how often.

Just like in 20 years time there may be a thread asking how often Steph McGovern presented on BBC Breakfast.

I don't care much for Peter's presenting in the first minute. It's the comedic shouting from him that gets me laughing!

Worth noting though this is three months before he did a pilot show for Comedy Lab for C4, which in turn led to That Peter Kay Thing and then on to Phoenix Nights, which wasn't till 2001. I think prior to this guest stint on The Big Breakfast his only TV work had been as a film and TV reviewer on The Sunday Show.

Some interesting photo's here on Rex Features including some interior shots of the house from July 2002 before the fire. You'll have to scroll down to find them.

He'd also been credited as a Writer for Tyne Tees' Chain Letters, during the series which "David Spikey" presented.

Great find covering the ten years of the show, minus the bits we'd rather forget.

I've never noticed it before, but in those 1997/8 titles the wall around the back of the swimming pool is really noticable, still with the "The Big Breakfast" lettering in pink. I thought those went when the house was painted yellow.

They built that rear wall then never quite knew what to do with it. Think it was a while before it was changed again - obviously hadn't been done on the day they filmed the giant toast flying to the house.

There's a shot of a framed Pun of the Week dating back to October 1997 and Johnny and Denise singing along to The Friday Song from 5th December 1997. I wish I knew more about these features and when they were first introduced.

I think that wall went or got chopped in half when they changed the French windows mid 1998. There's a picture of the brown house look dating as early as 2nd April 1998 on that Rex Features gallery.

I think the Pundown came in when Johnny began in September 1997, but don't think the Friday Song was there from the very first week.
