I'm not sure what you mean by the second staircase. If you mean the one that was rarely seen on air, that is part of the house which is now a private abode, so wouldn't be seen in Singing With The Enemy.

I posted this before but here's the layout of the house now. The main staircase has been filled in to create a living room in what used to be the hallway. The staircase is now in what used to be the back of the old living room.

You can see the staircase viewed from the kitchen here:

I stood at the top of the second staircase once as I waited to be brought on for a Crunch pre-record in Zig and Zag's bedroom in summer 1996. (Just before the revamp.) That was actually one of the elements improved by that revamp but the show didn't make much of it. You never really saw presenters going up and down those stairs as they did with the main set in the hall/kitchen.

Isn't this room part of the private house?

It's the same room I posted on the previous page.

Taken from here:

From that Zoopla page, it seems the private house is now an apartment/flat.

Hard to believe that used to be The Big Breakfast House. It looks so dull and lifeless now by comparison with its TV heyday.

I'd like to know the actual status of the house now although as I mentioned from that Zoopla page it appears to have been converted to flats.

Actually I was wrong, it appears to be a house still but notice how the far canal side is not featured.

Having looked through those updated pics of "Lock Cottage", I have to say it's a stark contrast to the bland lifelessness of the image that was posted earlier. It looks modern and fresh, and with all the walls being white, at a glance you wouldn't think it was once the setting for a brash, raucous breakfast TV show for nearly ten years!

If somehow, The Big Breakfast was to return in some form, and that property was readily available, it wouldn't need much work to make the house bright and breakfasty again. Even keep the current physical layout of the rooms more or less as they are. Although the current living room area is where the old hallway and main staircase used to be, I don't see any reason to change that.

Great images. Looking at them, I actually think with the advances in modern technology, it would be possible to have a production gallery in the attic now.

The week of 25th - 27th September 2017 would see the 25th Anniversary of The Big Breakfast, so if "Lock Cottage" is available for use, and the bosses at Channel 4 were to agree to it, then the show could possibly return for a special anniversary week of shows. A (very) long shot I know but not entirely impossible. Although I'd hazard a guess that a permanent comeback most likely wouldn't happen.

If TFI Friday can return for a one off anniversary special (albeit a bit early) so could The Big Breakfast.

With C4 doing an alternative election night now it's the sort of thing which would have been great in the days of The Big Breakfast with a "Big Election" special along the lines of The Biggest Breakfast Ever. Sadly though the two elections during the shows era coincided with the lowest points in the shows history as the show got over the 1996 and 2001 revamps.

Could this mock logo & theme be used in 2015?

I think some of the footage may have been taken from Whatadays mocks?

Is it me from looking at pictures 7-10 especially, could Channel 4 have used it for Sunday /Weekend /Daily Brunch? Or would Princess Productions have something to say about that?
