That's one way to make many of us here feel rather old!
Was Peter Smith known at all to a TV audience before he began on The Big Breakfast? He obviously was nowhere near as famous as Angela Rippon who regularly stood in for him (I think John Craven did at least once too), so just wondering basically where he came from.

When did the Big Breakfast stop showing cartoons during 7-9am.
I'm sure we've had that discussion before if you go back through the thread. Initially it was some time between Chris leaving and Zoe starting as The Crunch moved to the slot. They did return briefly in 1997 as part of Alien Alarm when the first half hour was handed over to Zig and Zag.

I don't ever remember seeing him before BB...or since, to be honest. He did an afternoon BBC quiz in the mid-90s called Incognito, but he may have been on the BB at the time

He did a show called I Wish I'd Thought of That in the late 90s which I think was about inventions. His background was in advertising though, and he was creative director at several marketing agencies prior to his role on the BB.

As far as my research can tell, the first appearance of Peter Smith was on BSB's Now channel as a presenter of First Edition, alongside Selina Scott. I'm not aware of him having done anything before that.
