It may have been that she had booked her holidays before any plans were announced. I remember that the 2000th show was hosted by Johnny & Gail Porter who is seen on the stairs of the hall during that song. I wonder why she didn't present on the Friday also.

With the 2000th show mid week rather than a Friday, what specials were counted to take it off count (as in Friday's being the __5th or __0th shows)?

Was this around the time Gail was hosting that chat show-style interview item?

There was definately one show on Christmas Day when it fell at the weekend in the early years. Not sure about the second - possibly the 1993 New Years Eve special.

I think The Big Christmas Breakfast was on Saturday 25th December 1993.

They were live on Christmas Day in 1992, a Friday, but the extra pre-recd 1 hour Christmas shows were both on Sundays, in 1994 (Christmas Day) and 1995 (Christmas Eve.)

...and the night time NYE special was in 1992.

I downloaded the Tipping Point gameshow app earlier and one of the questions i had was: "Which morning TV show once came from a set of three detached houses"

Well that question is incorrect. It's either three terraced, two semi-detached or one detached home, depending on how you look at it.

Liza was indeed on holiday at this point as Donna Air guest hosted with Johnny the week after that clip i posted with him and Lisa Rogers. Liza was back the following week after Donna Air then Johnny's wife went in to labour with his daughter and he had two weeks off.

I see Venessa Feltz has been speaking about her time on The Big Breakfast recently. I wonder if anyone has contacted ITN Source about the relevant clip. I expect we will see it soon, unless someone here already has a copy?
