I think Phil Gayle did the BBHQ bulletins in 2000 for their short run. They happened before he left and was briefly replaced by Bridgid Nzekwu.

BBHQ - Big Breakfast Headlines on the Quarter Hour.

Some footage from January 1998 although the end cap says 1997!

It all seems very flat to me, not much of an atmosphere in the house. Things certainly improved by the end of the year.

Did they speed up the end credits or did they have both a long version and a short version?

Even the Friday song feels flat and going by the reaction to the people on the staircase the jokes and puns are just going over their heads.

I liked that pink kitchen. It only lasted a few months though.

IIRC there was a longer version used on Fridays

The crowd for that Friday song weren't good, however I didn't spot a boom mic picking up their vocals.
That clothing feature would have been better staging it as a fake fashion show, even if the kids walked down the stairs to loud music and bright flashing lights. It seemed a bit boring for the big breakfast as it was.

I like the yellow house with that decor. I wonder why everything changed so soon.

Yes I think it's my favourite incarnation of the house actually.

I just don't get it though, there seems very little chemistry between Johnny & Denise in that video. Maybe they'd had a falling out?

Wouldn't be the last time.

They had to tone it down as I think the council took a disliking to it, and probably practical too. We saw in a pic earlier in the thread how dirty the white house got quite quickly and I expect it was a similar story for the yellow too - so when it went brown and then ultimately had the brick effect on that could disguise the grime a bit more.

I seem to remember it was going to be purple at one point. Glad they restored the house to the brickwork though, even though it was painted on.
