Slightly off topic, but all the morning shows were back from their summer breaks on the Monday after Diana's death. I remember This Morning beginning with a still of Diana and Judy Finnegan crying during the show.

This Morning did a whole week of Diana specials.

On the subject of The BB, watching Britain's Got More Talent really hits home how much of a legacy The BB has left behind. It's not just the shaky camera work, the games or the whooping crew members, but even down to the captions with the cheeky captions underneath (eg Rylan - Yes they're veneers).

I remember Children's BBC holiday mornings on the roof of TVC in 93, where the presenters started using clipboards. Clearly influenced by the BB.

Britain's got more talent also reminds me a bit of the big breakfast, with a bit of Noel's House Party thrown in. It's a very good programme & incredibly entertaining. Something that I think they tried to replicate on sunny side up.

I loved the custom made clipboards everyone would get when they hosted the show. I wonder if any are still lurking around?

That only came in with Johnny and Denise - IIRC in the original era the clipboards were linked to the 8.30 competition, so changed every month (though were just an image rather than 3D like later years). Initially I think they were just cue cards stuck on the back. 1996's of course were colour coded with the clock.

Even the paper - that just looked odd, just a bit too much emphasis.

As a kid, I loved the clipboards so much that I made my own. I could be embarrassed, but I put it down to a creative flare Very Happy

I attempted to make Richard Bacon's one that he had from 2001 til the end. Wasn't it made from the same stuff as the curtains?

Yeah, it was a sort of light wood effect with bacon on it wasn't it?

We seem to have uncovered some weird clipboard fetish amongst members.

To take the edge off, stumbled across some clean 1992 titles and stings:

David, fanoftv and AJ gave kudos

Nice find. I always found it odd that the logo on the titles ended in the wrong ratio to the main logo seen elsewhere.

There's nothing wrong with a fetish... Well not clipboards.

The way things are going these days I won't be surprised if the clipboard talk will be split in to its own dedicated thread!

Interesting clip. I had never seen this before. I wonder where their calls were going that day and what was wrong with using the 020 7985 1111 number.

020 for London didn't start until 2000, 0171 (01L1) was the dialing code for London in the 1990s (after PhONE day)
