Very true. I doubt Channel 4 would risk anything again. The only other non channel 4 channel that doesn't air anything major in the morning that something similar would fit on (imo) would be ITV2.

I have wondered if any broadcaster has considered doing a deal with a commercial radio station to air their broadcast, using in studio cameras, similar to The Chris Moyles Show's Radio X camera set up.

It's been attempted in the past, when Sky One took Chris Evans' Virgin breakfast show for an hour a morning. Lasted for a while, doesn't seem to have set the heather on fire.

I suspect in this era of fractured audiences, and given the fact the UK is more of a breakfast radio than TV country, and given Channel 4's failed attempts at successors to the Big Breakfast, they've just decided repeats are a cheap way to fill the morning and provide an alternative to people who don't want news/a traditional breakfast show.

The previous iteration of local TV station in Oxford did the same with BBC Radio Oxford. Charles Nove the breakfast presenter wore a dinner jacket on the first day !

From the same episode above, did they have a replica shed like the bed that they took out to locations or is George Lucas actually at Bow Locks? Looking at the other parts, he doesn't seem to turn up until this point.

Isn't there also the option that the item was pre-recorded in their normal location, rather than being live?

I don't remember that. They had the small animated clock in 2001 where the background moved up and down (and it looked far better than what replaced it!), but don't remember any flipping clock.


Your mind may be blown to discover it's actually the huge purple and yellow clock from 2000 which animates. It's a subtle movement though.

What was with all the Christmas decorations?! I wondered if infact it was a December episode but the US Election confirms it's definitely November 8th.

I’m assuming that it was one of the days that they pre recorded the shows to run between Christmas & New Year. They generally made an annual feature of it in the Vaughan day’s as the house had to be decorated for the recordings they did an early Christmas show complete with Christmas titles. I remember it as early as October one year, givinv me a festive feeling two months early.
