As somebody who doesn't want to see images in signatures, so has them turned off, what I object to greatly are people like Mr Snowden who insist on putting them in the post, rather than the in the signature area, thus making me have to scroll past them.

No, we're not all moaners, Mr Spewdon, we just like the guidelines on signature images to be followed correctly.
Mr H, I apologise, I was sure I saw several other sigs similar to mine, but never mind I won't rattle you again with it.
I'm also sure that blatant advertising of ones own Web site is also mentioned somewhere in the mentioned guidelines... regardless of how ugly and pointless it is.

That's absolutely incorrect - the total staff, including freelancers, is just over 20,000. And they don't all work on the same day. Oh no! I'm on my hols next week, so that's 19,999 working - and me posting plenty here and bugging you lot :-p
I think, if you bother to read the guidelines, which thus far you obviously haven't, you'll find that advertising one's own website is perfectly acceptable, providing it is contained within the text (and link) in one's own signature, Mr Spewup.

Well I was told 30,000 staff plus around 10,000 freelancers.
That total includes all TV/Radio/Online/World emplyees AFAIK...
That's definately the figure that I heard quoted during The Big Conversation
