I know Greg's on this forum, and a load of people on here are generally "in the know" - but I've got a number of questions about these channels, and I'm also dubious about their operation. Although not strictly related to presentation, it does tie in with how the channel comes across to the viewer. Anyhow, here are my questions...
1) When you ring in first time, you placed your bid, and then someone rings you back to take your card details and your name, delivery details etc. I understand that bit.
2) The next time you ring to bid for an item, do they provide you with a four-digit security code or anything like that that you type in after you dial the number? Or is it simply the case that when you ring, they can tell who it is via your phone number, and they'll automatically take payment from you, and then dispatch the goods? Just a bit of a nightmare if you've got a kid who gets tempted by a £150 quad bike and rings the number.. and then receives it!
3) What if you dial 141 before dialling the bid number? Can they tell you you are?!
4) Don't the presenters get bloody tired of that music during their three hour stints, 5 days a week? It'd do my head in, especially the Price Drop music.
I do have more questions, however I'll leave it for now for fear of Nick Harvey's train...
