and I do wonder what the long-term plan is.

Briefly, their outing on showcase is nothing more than an extended pilot. Tweaking will come after a short period of establishment (which is about done with). They'll try new things, new games, new presenters; see which has the biggest yield of general entry from the limited viewership.

From my source inside, there are already plans for additional carriage in the future.

It was nice to see a change of face on WCL last night, Marina Berry at the helm 'n all. Though she should probably pay more attention to her use of filler words and sounds; every other word was "er", "um"... don't know about anyone else that was watching, but it was one hell of a distraction.

She was great as an assistant to main presenters in a previous life, but unless she can sort her flow out - she's going to be unwatchable.

I only caught the last hour (which wasn't particularly busy); I think the lack of interaction meant she had to fill a bit more than other presenters have had to. Combine that with it being her first time flying solo on the channel, and I reckon there's a good chance she'll improve.

It starts next Wednesday at 11pm on STV Edinburgh/STV Glasgow and just after midnight on STV. Running until 2am on all STV channels.

I can't believe this type of show is back on TV!
