Has the bid studio had a lick of paint or is it the lighting making it look a bit different?

Yeah it seems to have been painted and they've removed the patterned wallpaper. It looks horrible.

I wonder if something new is going to début on Wednesday? That's what's usually happened in the past.

Hmmmm possibly. It does seem to be more of an undercoat rather than a new finish when the camera zooms close to the backdrop. I doubt there'd be a new set, but there could be some new colours on the walls. I for one would welcome back orange and red walls!

Well Spring Savers finishes today, doesn't it? It must be something to do with that. Mark Ryes nearly let slip last night what the replacement will be having recorded some new voice overs for it. (so expect something long-lasting, and possibly generic) - I presume it won't be Andy Hodgson's guess of Summer Savers.

Mark was that excited to tell us the replacement last night, that he even tapped the arm of the assistant. Anyway back on topic, I think we should take bets on them going back to rising auctions.

On Wednesday?! They won't.

Sorry, did I say rising auctions? I meant a large mural of Peter Simon's face being painted on the set walls.

He wouldn't allow it. Not after the Peter Simon Limited Edition Hand-Painted Resin Figurine.

Only half the set has been 'painted' at the moment it seems. The current sets of Bid, Price Drop and Bid Plus are wishy-washy in my opinion. Personally the return of bright colours, although slightly less up-market, would make the channels stand out more. And let's be honest, they're not known for their high end products. They are, and always will be, a set of 'discount channels'.

I don't think they will paint bid in too different a colour, simply because of the colour-changing LED lights they can utilise in the background. The other two are in dire need of a decent set - especially price drop.

Price Drop's always going to have problems with the space of the studio itself (Studio 3). However, they should return to only having three 'sell points' like their former studio. Over the past two years they've started to fill the studios with the products which they'll be selling hours later. It gives the whole presentation a cluttered feel, and that ain't a good thing. There have been times recently, there have been so many products out on display, that even a close zoom couldn't only highlight the product being sold.

They really need to get rid of the clutter in there, but the set is still bloody awful. It says a lot when the original set looks better than the current one.

Have Bid Plus done any live shows since they introduced item numbers and the new phone number? It always seems to be the same shows on rotation when ever I flick past.

Don't think they have. Crafti Creations are now using the set, meaning Bid Plus don't have a studio at the moment.
