Interesting that in 1984/5 BFBS were chopping off the ITV front caps (but not the end boards)


The ITV idents were edited out from the beginning of the service in 1975 - quite tricky given the simplicity of some of the original editing kit.


There is also a Conservative Party PPB right at the end of one of the You Tube clips, which is interesting (why PPBs were broadcast ?)

I guess members of the armed forces and their families serving abroad are able to vote, so are offered the same PPB/PEBs as the rest of the UK (though goodness only knows how devolved that is now...)

Yes, the service relayed the PPB's when it eventually went live.

I don't who who's running that youtube channel, whilst most of the information is correct he or she certainly didn't work for the service when it was run by LWT at Stonebridge Park though a number of the clips are from that era, unless they are currently using an alias. Interesting though.
