Aah a My Hero repeat on UKTV Gold in 20 min. I'm going to watch it followed straight away by a BW episode (from DVD) and see if I can visualise it then Wink

With the 'Evil' mother in law, and 'Dotty' Aunt, it seems as though it could work with our humour.

I only hope the "Darrin" character is not a comedian, but a straight guy who finds it hard to cope with the magical antics.

Also a group of unknowns would be good, and perhaps not try too hard to get the laughs, like My Hero or My Family does. its SITCOM, the way the characters cope in the Situation should be funny, not the characters themselves.

Yes, completely agree.

The original series was very clever, and managed to do comedy, sillyness, and good quality sitcom in one! I just really hope the BBC doesn't take a modern setting too far - sticking with the core elements of the show would work great over here.

Turning it into something like 2point4children with special effects would be rubbish (although 2point4children worked well in its day).

Knowing the BBC Sam & Darren will be divorced and Tabitha will have cerebral palsy.

Sheridan Smith (aka Janet in Two Pints of Larger and A Packet of Crisps) has landed the role of Samantha in the UK remake of Bewitched.

So a few predictions of mine

*Will air in the Friday night 8.30pm slot (pilot might air on BBC3)
*They will make it 'a tad more adult, as well as modern. So mild sexual references and stuff.
*They will not be married (just be living together)
*They will rename some of the characters
*They will make Endora very stereotypical English & upper-class

*Will borrow a lot of the 'My Hero' mould so, it will be set in a fictional suburb of London and Darrin's parents will be more promenade characters than in the original. Also Samantha will keep making countless references to her home world/planet/dimension.

*Will air in the Friday night 8.30pm slot .

and for viewers in Scotland it will either be moved to

* Tuesday at 8.30pm
* Fridays at 9pm
* Disapper for 6 months and then shown either on Tuesday at 8.30pm
* Disapper for 6 months and be shown in a Fixed spot like Tuesday at 10.35pm but you found out it already been shown in Scotland 6 month earlier during the sign zone during the night at 3.30am.
* Disapper for a year, in which no one even know what this, just like that other comady, you know the one with Nicholas Lyndhurst, you know it was just showning Series One in scotland about 3 months ago, just as England was getting Series two! anyway's gets dumped in to the slot like Monday at 7.30pm up against corrie but by that time it will get moved to following tuesday at 8.30pm then moved to the following Firday at 10.35pm then moved 10 days later to Sunday at 10.15pm Disapper for 3 weeks then show the last two epsoide at some random points between the next following 5 weeks.
*

God bless BBC scotland!

Prefer the Family Guy version myself. Laughing

Can't be worse than the film I suppose.
