Do any other regions have anything like what Midlands Today has at breakfast, the on screen weather and travel information?

yes, i believe north west today has it and BBC LDN does (which you can see on BBC News 24 in the morning) LDN though does not have a ticker but has a dedicated travel presenter [/snub]

Yes Spotlight did go downhill set wise with the corporate look. Also Look North lost an amazing desk!

It certainly did - it was definitely another one of the programmes that went from having a unique and creative look to a bland and unimaginative one.

Before and after...

Leeds - presenters in photo on left are Mike McCarthy and Clare Frisby. Presenters in photo on right are Clare Frisby and Harry Gration.

There are two fab northern shows - 18:30 Monday - Friday on Sky channel 946, and the same time and same days on Sky channel 947.

I haven't checked very recently, but I don't think North West Today have the same as Midlands Today at Breakfast. Midlands Today have the presenter in-vision, but they also have weather and travel information around the edges of the screen all the time. NWT has a travel and weather slide at the end of the bulletin, but that's it.

Oh honestly, every single post is starting to sound like a BBC press release. Rolling Eyes

Anyway, what's worse is if you compare the old studio to the new Hull one, it's like from the sublime to the ridiculous

well to my knowledge kay's system is unique

http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/upload/130803-bbcmids-kay01.jpg

but not for long ... the system has proved so successful that forward looking bods at bbc west have decided to make a western version of the system with help from pebble mill. i believe it is all *in the pipeline*. wonder if any other regions will see the light?

So... she's still a looker. Don't mean I wanna marry her. Didn't she used to be Helen Morton? I wonder where she picked her hubbie up then
