Fair point - although they got a taste of their own medicine in the end of course.

So Granada can get away scot free with what they did then? They may have kept the names whilst they did but they rebranded all the regional idents into the same image with bland announcements (in the Anglia region) Carlton in the Central region had very warm announcements such as "Good Evening and a warm welcome to Carlton on this Tuesday evening" etc .

All Granada did in the end was remove the regional brand all together, at least Carlton kept it going, it would be the greed of the shareholders pockets at Granada that would kill ITV into a station that is best known as Chav-tv thesedays.

I think some of the best idents were when CBBC was called Children's BBC (the Toby Anstis, Josie D'arby era), some of those were fun and much better than the yellow and black crap that Lambie Nairn produced.

Fun?FUN? The CBBC 1997 idents were the best ones! And the end idents were some of the best.
THEN:Weird animation, but the music makes it great.
NOW:They think a bug flying down a circled thing is a good ident.Well it's NOT.
