Are they going to keep the current ident/music (albeit with the new logo)?

I don't see why they wouldn't - they've obviously spent on it, so I think they should keep it!!

I love the 93 Breakfast News titles - the orchestra sounds absolutely wonderful (there are loads of different melodies that all merge together to, what was then, the BBC News fanfare!)- much better than the bleepy-bloopy Breakfast one we have now!

WOW! That was a pretty accurate mimic of the music! (i meant that!)
I love thw BBC BREAKFAST music, it's so morning-ish, and a great variation of the beeb's music! I love it. I do think the headline bed could be a little more fun though,
DUM DUM DUM dduuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmm

heheh, i like my mimic!

That's why I don't like the Breakfast theme - cos it reminds me of mornings! I hate mornings!!

I used to think that the overnight N24 theme (the BBC World ident) was used because it was quieter than the N24 ident, so it wouldn't wake people up:?! I'm so glad I know better now!!! Very Happy Very Happy

all the bbc news themes are great. but the N24 countdown is by far the best. no other song exists quite like that one. my 2nd choice would have to be the UK Today songs Very Happy

Yeah, all of Spotlight's pre-corporate themes have been fantastic.

i gotta agree chesh, the last one was brilliant! really uplifting. i would have loved to have that in my region at 6:30 of an evening. i had some of guy michellmore's reporting scotland themes, and i thought some were pure gash. to use a scottish expression. the current corporate rep scotland is ok, but i think i prefer wales today out of the two of them.

has anyone noticed (i've got too much time on my hands) that if you play the welsh, scottish and northern ireland nation themes together (using an application like Multique) then they blend together in a very symphonic way. Its like all of the elements of one theme coming together.

should anyone care for a copy of the one i mixed, feel free to pm or email me.

Erm, excuse me for being for pointing out the obvious, but wouldn't you oppose the actual name of the programme (BBC BREAKFAST) rather than the titles???

It's not that I don't like the current themes, they do sound and look very good but for a news programme they do seem a little out of place.
As just idents/titles/stings on their own they are great but I think idents etc should really be related to the programme and a news programme just doesn't sound right with them.
If the BBC were to introduce a more relaxed atmosphere to News 24 they would be perfect but at the moment they just don't fit.
You get this nice ident and good music and then two presenters appear and say 'This is BBC News 24' in a very dull voice, just doesn't work.
I think it's about time to introduce the corporate music to BBC Radio, especially Five Live - i'm seriously getting sick of that horrible jingle!
Although perhaps Radio 2's jingle should stay.
I think the BBC World Business sting would be good for Five Live.

I can't believe I'm the only person to have voted for the fantastic ITN News Channel music. It's great! It's just so fast and to the point, just like the channel itself.
