Which is the best theme in TV News ?

Cheeky git! I had to go back and make sure I hadn't written 1889!

For the record, 30 I may be, but I recorded the music off the channel's 10th anniversary special a couple of years back!

Also, if the Mega news theme's not 'up your street', there's always the Sunday night extended closing theme on Antenna! Now that's a good 'un.

Failing that, I'll fall in line with the BBC bums! !!

As news themes go, ITV News isn't so bad, it's just that it really hasn't changed in years and years and is sounding very old fashioned. They really need to bring it up to date.

I used to like the theme tune to the ITN Early Evening News with John Suchet at 5:40.

I'm not going to vote in this, i just can't pick one fave(you may have noticed i'm not very good at favourites), I really like all BBC themes(although the regions are a bit dodgy), 5 news, and sky, so i'll just sit here, and name things I don't like(i'm better at this) I don't like central news themes, they are just ugh, ITV regions news.

I liked the 1995 ITN themes.
CNN International from 1998 was pretty good too.

I think Central News East have a good theme and I would have to agree that the previous Spotlight theme was fantastic!

Then again, it was composed by Guy Mitchelmore who composed the pre corporate Spotlight, South Today, Look East, Reporting Scotland and Newline themes, which I thought were all very good!

Yeah, all of Spotlight's pre-corporate themes have been fantastic.

The 10 second countdown is just that. If they are running early they will run the countdown then sit on the BBC World sting bed for a while, which suggests that there is no extended version. Well... that and the fact that it sometimes sits waiting at '10' for a couple of seconds before it starts!

I used to like Sky News' theme, but the new one is SOO bland and boring!! It's not just cos I'm a beebaholic - a theme tune needs to have some sort of punch to it plus a memorable jingley bit, but Sky's doesn't any more, like Tomorrow's World's new theme - Bor-a-blooming-ring!

BBC News 24 NEEDS more punch in its theme too!

I think the current Sky News theme has more punch than the last one!
Anyway, we haven't heard all of the Sky News theme yet. I'd fully expect them to use different ones for Sunrise, Today, Live at Five, Nine and Ten.
