Channel Television's 1960's "Victorious Achievement" and "Tomorrow The World" conjours up the pathos and feel of the wartime occupation of the Channel Islands.

I did like the 1982 version of the Central theme.

Chris Gunning's Yorkshire Theme (1982) would have to be my favourite, closely followed by Tyne Tees' Three Rivers Fantasy.

Fourscore is another one that gets me going.

Fourscore has a brilliant build up. I've yet to hear the B-side which is apparently better in some cases.

Aye, would tend to agree with that. YTV's was a masterpiece, and TTTV's just beautiful. Brings a lump to my throat every time I hear it.

Why they had to spoil the version used on Calendar I don't know -- it still sounds fresh today (apart from the synthy bit in the middle, that probably could have done with a slight remix). The 80s one was splendid.

I agree, I too would say the Westward one you are referring to is the best.

Is there any hope of a higher resolution copy appearing somewhere in this broadband era?
