Which ITV company is the best? My vote would have been for UTV, but I think that Carlton has surpassed itself over the last few months and is beginning to sort itself out.

IMO, Granada is an old TV pro, but a new media amateur.

I picked Carlton because along with Granada they practically own ITV! I don't agree with this but wether they have made a good or bad job of it they are still managing to do ithttp://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I picked Granada because their contribution to ITV is very high.

But the logo's are very rubbish! They never bother to play the proper lines music when the logo's come on. Plus when will we see the purple ones ?

As much as I hate them, I voted Carlton as I think they've done wonders with ITV, for such a (relatively) young company.

I voted for UTV, as they have in-vision continuity. Old-fashioned it may be, but it's lovely. Smile

Oh, hello ribbit. Pining for a TV Forum as Not BBC is down? http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I'd go for Carlton. I still hate the fact that the Central branding has gone, but they do seem to be making a bit of an effort. (And I haven't got Sky Digital, so can't compare others Sad )

Details of Carlton's Current Brand

http://www.lambie-nairn.com/uploads/images/1925327055.jpg

Carlton merely owned the London/South-East ITV weekly franchise when Lambie-Nairn created the strategy and branding for its launch. Today, Carlton is a huge communications group, having expanded its UK television interests and extended abroad in related businesses. The re-branding of Carlton had a number of key objectives. These were to raise visibility of the group by uniting all its media brands; to harmonise the branding of their 3 ITV networks (London, Central & West Country) to make one single brand statement; and to reflect more strongly their relationship with the ITV positioning of ‘the heart of the nation'.

Something smells in here.

Ah, I see, more corporate BS.

If that's the case, why then are there Carlton businesses not called Carlton?

Because the Carlton businesses not called 'Carlton' are American, and the US recognises the brands better than 'Carlton' (such as 'Technicolor'). Whereas nobody in the US has heard of Central Television.

So, CARLTON renames Central Television, but not Technicolor.

Easy when you know how, eh?

Still smells like corporate BS to me. What have the Yanks got to do with local ITV? http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/confused.gif
