Well I've just voted for lovely Rachel McTavish.

I voted for Julia Somerville in the others section! It was a travesty that she's been shunted onto the ITN News Channel. The biggest mistake that ITV made was to dump her for Kirsty Young.

Kirsty Young's nice enough but she mumbles the news and she doesn't have the authority and presence of Julia! Mary Nightingale's good though but unfortunately (to my mind) Kirsty's coming back soon so I'll be forced to switch channels!

But the new one on London Tonight (Sasha Upton isn't it?) has forced me to switch to Newsroom South East, she keeps making mistakes! In my view they should move Anna-Maria Ashe (another terrific newsreader overlooked!!) to the 6:00 with Alastair Stewart - the dream team!

It really depends where they are presenting.
Fiona is too stuck up for my tastes. Sian is an excellent newsreader but would do better on a 24 hour service, as would Mary.
Mary appears to want to banter with Dermot but they just can't, aww bless.
On the other hand Kay Burley is just not suited to a 30 min slot, she's fantastic on Sky but I doubt that her personality would come across in just 30 mins.
Natasha Kaplinsky is also better suited to Sky because 3/4 hours gives a presenter more chance to put their personality across.
I wish ITV and ITN would go back to the 1995 era.
The designs were fresh and modern and clean, some of the best news designs i've ever seen I think.

I forgot Anna in that post.
Her and Bob make probably one of the best presenting couples about.

I think Moira Stewart is one of the best news presenters period. If said it before, I think the BBC really waste her talent on Breakfast.

The 1990 era seemed better to me.. the 540 News was good - better than the Early Evening News and I liked the way both News At Ten and the Lunchtime News used the London buildings backdrop. It gives a good effect to my mind.

Ok, I voted other: the two Lisa's of Sky News: Lisa Aziz (for news, cos I have to make a news choice), but the best presenter must be Lisa Burke!Very Happy

I've seen Moira on News 24 before now, she used to do it quite often.

I totally forgot about Moira. And yes I couldn't agree more with what you say!!! The BBC should let her present the six o'clock again, just like the old days.
