What about having a central 'coronationstreet.co.uk' that then links you to the three websites?

Or just not having a URL on them at all, and allow ITV1, STV and UTV to have their own addresses on the ECP...?
Surely, that would make more sense?

Or as a holding slide after the credits, like after You've Been Framed! ?

A bit off topic but remember those truly revolting "Previous" and "Next time" straps ITV used to use during their drama programmes that were pointlessly and hideously in the same style as the old credits (with the different shades of blue). Why on earth did they think that was necessary?

Here it is. Actually not quite a bad as I remember but I think it looked much worse on screen. There was simply no need for a corporate look for that aspect of the programme.

I'm sure I saw those appear on a repeat of Inspector Morse, I thought it was a bit odd. Had the new credits and itv.com URL as well but was dated 1998!

They replaced the credits a lot of their programmes, especially the ones that were produced by regions, with the corporate styling and how disgusting it was!

I'm sure there was a case not so long back where the original credits appeared for 1 second then it was the ITV corporate 2006 style. Quite strange!

ITV have got the right idea, but the white-on-black credits are very dull and depressing. It's especially jarring when you go from a showbiz studio show like one of Ant and Dec's quizzes straight into a black screen.

I think it's important to keep static white text as opposed to a scroller, but the background should be something unique to the show each time. On studio shots, a blurred wide shot of the studio would do.

Why not have something along the lines, the end credits scrolling from Right to Left while keeping the closing shots of the program that was on, instead of just a black screen with white text.

Scrolling credits from right to left are unreadable at speed though. (Motion blur)

On that subject, I notice that Sky blur out the itv.com URL during the credits on Club Reps when it is shown on Pick TV but leave it unblurred when they show Lilly Savage's Blankety Blank on Challenge. I hope someone finds this observation of interest.

It's the same with Golden Balls. The occasional episode of The People Versus (if they ever show it again) still have the 'information on itv.com/peopleversus and teletext page...' slide intact.

I suspect they were blurred since they didn't want the itv.com URL showing on a Sky branded channel (assuming they showed it before they rebranded this year)?

There was a previous version of this with the yellow square at the end too, which looked equally as daft. You see it when they repeat Footballers Wives and Bad Girls on CBS Drama, and it's on the DVDs too.

Umm, The Bill, Episode 092:

In the end Joanna had fallen down a well, no abduction. No joke!

But that caption is vile!

Sorry about that, Terence! I just found it easier to link to those YouTube videos and all. I presumed that as long as you have the frontcap, we all know where it's from. Smile
