Well I wouldn't be too fussy about that if the presenters looked like that Fox-y lady!
P.S. These smileys are a bit ... restrictive aren't they?

She'S E D Donahey (I spelt it wrong i thinK) -- i don't watch the show a lot, but she's been like dunked in one of those water tanks you see at carnivals over here, on air - and some worse stuff…
it's a really stupid, childish show - but, of course, it's ratings are the strongest of the cable news nets from 7.00-9.00
CNN's building a street-level studio -- Aaron Brown (formerly from ABC News - he's doing a lot of CNN presenting now) and Paula Zahn are supposed to anchor new shows from there after it's built -- i think in the summer -- from what i've heard, Brown's show will be an evening newscast, and Paula's will be a new breakfast news programme…
I really like Paula - she's been doing a great job on CNN over the past few weeks. I used to enjoy watching her on CBS This Morning alongside Harry Smith and Mark McEwan when Sky News used to show it for 30mins in the afternoon. Sounds like CNN are trying to put together a proper network-style brekkie show.
I think CNN - much like Sky News - wants to be recognised as one of the major players in the US news market.
Over there they have 'the big three', NBC, ABC and CBS. CNN is well thought of but it still remains as 'Crisis News Network', and not a network you'd turn to unless something important was/is happening.
Much the same could be said about Sky News, to quote (I think) Ray Snoddy, Sky News would like to be more than just a cog in the huge Sky machine. That's true.
Hopefully the relaunch will give them a little bit more independence away from Sky - I know there were rumours that Sky News would be broken away from BSkyB but realistically that seems to have been thrown out of the window for the next few years as the relaunch is to follow the generic Sky look.
I'd be VERY surprised if Sunrise, Today and Live at Five are dropped from the schedules. Sunrise and Live at Five have been there for ages now and to dump them would be wrong in my view. Sunrise is now the oldest breakfast programme on TV.
I've yet to experience Fox and Friends - but I suppose that friendly chat and banter is nice to wake up to in the morning. I'll have to make up my own mind.
Remember... They report I decide (Fox News slogan)
Just been watching Fox and Friends on Fox News, which was back in its proper studio today. Obviously they're not exactly doing a normal programme at the moment, but it seems quite good - nice friendly banter and all that, and the streetside studio is quite cosy! I found this amusing photo of the show on the Laurie Dhue fan club - the hilariously titled 'Love me Dhue'. By the looks of it, that's exactly what the bloke is thinking... http://www.tvhome.f2s.com/ikonboard/upload/Fox%20&%20Friends%20-%20Laurie.jpg
Meanwhile, I've been watching a bit more of MSNBC on CNBC, and they're doing a lot of stuff from the tastefully named 'MSNBC war room', which is basically a big map in the middle of the newsroom, with models of planes etc.

Nothing to do with news programmes i know, but the best studio I've seen was that of 'The Crystal Maze'!

Yeah, MSNBC's new studio thing in the newsroom is pretty cool looking -- they have one of those huge screens like they have over at CNN -- they also have a digital widescreen-projector screen on the other side of the newsroom. I remember MSNBC did something very similar during Desert Fox.
I noticed the big screen for the first time after I'd posted - it looks a bit like something off the set of Telly Addicts, with its rounded edges and big black frame!
They seem to have stopped referring to the area as the 'MSNBC war room', which is good. AND they're going to a lot of trouble to stress that they're not giving away any tactical information! But, as Greg Jarrett pointed out, 'it doesn't matter if we tell you where the aircraft carriers are going, because it's impossible to hide something that big anyway'! Makes sense, I suppose.
Alek - do you have any current photos of Chris Jansing, by any chance? The reason I ask is because she looks exactly like Lynn Scully in 'Neighbours', which I think is pretty funny, and I want to post the pictures of them both so people can make up their own minds!
