Aaargh, we've missed it Razz

Whoops 2007!!!
How long will I be making that mistake for in the new year?!

As Denis once put it... "to err is human - but to really cock things up, you need a TV personality".

(So we all must be human, then!)

Looking forward immensely to the show.

I wonder if the reason the delayed showning until the start of 2007 is because it make it a FULL 30 years doing this show!

It's not really an Alright on the Night, though, but more of a showcase of Denis' work for TV over the years. In any case AOTN's 30th anniversary isn't until next autumn (September 18th to be exact).

I think we all now know that AOTN 20 and LF 13 were the last editions of their respective series. All the Best from Denis Norden is exactly what it says in the title! Wink

Apparently our TV guide says it's a repeat.

Nope, it's all-new - having been postponed twice from its original scheduled TX dates (23rd September and 23rd December).

The original planned TX dates would have been provisional.

Not long to go now until we see it.

Don't forget - 9pm TONIGHT on ITV1!!!

Or, for those of you watching in Scotland, who for some reason have their own ITV stations, "stv".

When you say "it's all new"...do you me they are brand new funny moments or a "new show" showing the best funny moments over the years?

Three highlights on tonight's swansong show...

1: My vicious, yet hilarious attack on Carol Vorderman from 1993...

2: Debble King's hilario... Sorry... Terrible fall on an edition of Quizmania...

3: The poignant ending.

Does anybody know if there'll be clips of the late Steve Whatley (QVC, Ideal World) in tonights show?

It's a brand-new show showing the best "funny bits" from Denis's work over the years.

There are a few brand new "funny bits" too!

If I had to pick my favourite Nordenisms, these ones stand out from over the years:

"...some more examples of where the fixtures aren't and the fittings don't".
(It'll Be Alright on Christmas Night aka AOTN 5)

"Welcome to It'll Be Alright on the Night, Gateway to Cock-up Country."
(AOTN 6)
While introducing a set of clips leading up to a commercial break in the same edition - "...after which, it's once more into the break, dear friends..."

"Hello. Or, for those of you who've videoed this and fast-forward through me to get to the funny bits, goodbye. For those remaining, welcome to the eight annual cockup congress."
(AOTN 8 )

After a clip in which a sex scene goes wrong when a sock refuses to come off:
"That's a novelty - socks and violence."
(Utterly Worst of AOTN)

And after a clip in AOTN 11 where Fern Britton gets squirted with cream during an edition of Ready Steady Cook:
"That's the way the cooking crumbles."

And to round off, two from AOTN 12:

"Some people now say, there are no mistakes, only learning experiences. In which case, welcome to 60 minutes of Higher Education."

"... as they say in Greenwich, mean time...."

A man of words, wordplay and wit - ladies and gentlemen, the one and only Denis Norden.
