Yes the two longest running are Channel Report and LT, both still looking and sounding the same since 2000, though I'm not sure when.
The next oldest are HTV Wales [March 2001], HTV West [Sept], Granada and Border [October].
The other regions/sub-regions have been updated in either 2002 or 2003.
*hopes the HTV trumpets will go away soon*

Oh yes, you're quite correct. I've just been to a couple of places just now that have those titles saying they're from 1999.
*hands Ison a coconut*
I don't really mind LT's titles, I think they're ok -- and I still love the studio and backdrop, with the panning camera at the start. When I left London in late 1998 they were still using the original titles and fab music [Mark II though], so that appalling look that went in between didn't last for very long at all!
If the longest three then are London, Channel and HTV -- the trumpets are *definitely* the most in need of binning.

The London Tonight look of today (or should that be tonight?) was around in Mid-1999. Distinctly remember Trish telling us that London Tonight was on over the old black LWT ident. So it was before October (?) 1999 at least.

Never really liked the HTV News Wales music when it came in (Back in March 2001? As it rebranded with Central South). But saying that, they do have some cracking graphics and the blue and gold work very well together - and they must have had a foresight to see that it would fit in with the ITV News look of today. But then they made sure the backdrop did...so no surprise!

I have to say I wasnt fussed on those titles either, I felt they were lacking something. I love the current ones, the trumpets are good as they give a great introduction to the program. Although it would be nice to have a revamp of the entire program - maybe this will happen in January 2004.

The daftest looking HTV News in Wales has to be the one they had before with the floating HTV over the yellow background. I never got what all that was about.

Seriously speaking guys, lets discuss the subject of this thread - i.e the best CENTRAL NEWS region.
In my opinion, nothing comes close to the superb Central South; it's amazing that the service sustains such high standads in the midst of the televisual desert known as Carlton.
Also, it beats the other two central serices in ratings.
Enough said.

Indeed, Central South is great. Fab music (though not as good as the music before it - a clip of it is here...). The presenters are pretty good too.
