For me...

5. Central Cake - I never lived in the region so it's low on my list but what I've seen on line are excellent
4. BBC 1 Balloons - I never used to like these but looking back at them they were rather good, especially compared to later versions
3. LWT 1996-1999 Ident - Fluid animation and great fanfare, the last great regional ident IMHO
2. Thames Television 1991-1992 Final Ident - Many may disagree with this but considering when it was aired and the graphics quality of St, Paul's, Tower Bridge & Big Ben ot was excellent for it's time
1. BBC 2, Big 2 1991-2001 - What else could be number 1 a fantastic collection of idents over the years taken of air by a controller who wanted to make their mark. Classics include: Paint, Blade, Car, Optics, Neon, Dog & Balloon

Well for me it has to be this:
3. ITV Regions- IMO its impossible to just choose one as all of them were so good in the 90s.
2. BBC1 Balloons- So majestic, so inspiring, such a missed oppurtunity. Under appreciated by the Beeb.
1. BBC2 90s 2s- 'nuff said.

PS: Ive added videos to my first post if you're feeling nostalgic Very Happy

BBC2's veridian "2"s * . And certain ITV regions are my favourites (particularly the original 1993 Meridian and Westcountry idents).

* You'd never guess from my signature that I'm a fan of bluey-greens (e.g. veridian, teal, etc) would you...? Wink

Oi Shocked , even though I only saw it for a while cos I moved to sunny Plymouth in 1996, it wasn't that bad considering it was invented in an afternoon in the pub on the back of a fag packet!

Staying away from the obvious BBC ONE balloon/smokey globe, and the BBC TWO "2s", I think I will have to go for the following as my top 5:

Arrow 5 - All the Sky "tombstones" (both sets)
Arrow 4 - Westcountry
Arrow 3 - LWT's varied ones
Arrow 2 - Central's cake
Arrow 1 - Carlton's Corporate ones

There is of course a place for so many others. It really was a decade for presentation fans. The Sky "neons", Granads's own regional glass ident, TTTV, HTV's later attempts (after the ice cream van jingle) and many more!

Laughing C3NE, now that was an ident, imagien if they had all took on the Channel 3 branding, according to 625, at one time, they stated that LWT was to take C3 branding & were goign to be called Channel 3 London, what would Carlton called themselves though?

For anyone fortunate enough not to live in the Tyne Tees area at the time here is the horrific C3NE ident (click on the image for the video if you dare...)
*
However i think most people were p*ssed off because Yorkshire said they would also rebrand Yorkshire 'C3 Yorkshire' but then chickened out and gave the poor old Tyne Tees brand the boot. Then GMG made arguably their best decision ever when they took over Yorkshire's assets, they rebranded the network Tyne Tees TV.

What's even more confusing about the ident is that it reads:
North East 3
Tyne Tees Television

Yes and the announcers used to often say: 'This is Tyne Tees Television, broadcasting in the North East on Channel 3'
It was as if Yorkshire couldn't make up there minds about the C3 brand, so why did they bother spending a ridiculous amount of money creating it anyway?

Granada 90's has to be up there. ive tried my best to find them on the net but to no avail, there were a set where the granada G logo was formed from a variety of situations/circumstances. one was with a fish blowing out a bubble under sea the bubble rising to the top and then the granada G popping out of it, another was a G inmprinted on snow from the bottom of somones shoe but i cant find any of that set anywhere. and who can beat the classic 90's ident where the logo comesinto screen slowly to that catchy yet simple jingle onto a bluey/,aroon/greeny background......classic!

Does anybody remember a pretty rare ident on Granada in the 90s were the Granada logo was seen floating in water?

Not that particular one but there was a real player file (possibly on tv ark) ages ago with the Granada G in a fingerprint style.

I think there was a set of these at one stage but not living in Granadaland I'm not entirely sure.
