put it than the Olympic if you looked at the numbers.you'd find
that alot of people up and down the uk support football teams
in the football League than will watch the Olympic.for some who
work saturday it's a very important services i and many others
would take that "Bloody football" over the Olympic any day.

Bloody football - as if second division football is more important than the Olympic Games!!! I'm sure Freeview viewers could cope without the full Score service for a couple of weeks at least - they can always use Sky Sports News instead..

A lot of people don't, yet we still have to put up with it every time we go to the pub for a quiet drink, or one of our favorite programmes is taken off to put a football match on. Football is just a sport like any other sport, nothing special, certainly not a 'beautiful game', yet it gets treated like it's the most important thing on the planet most of the time. Can't you live without it for five minutes?

None TV related, but really pissed me off yesterday when looking to see if the Sundays had any Olympic Guides and virtually all just had a football pull out for the new season, most of which spoofed the Olympics in some way. Very annoying - especially as those ignoring it now will be jumping on the bandwagon when they realise that unlike the footballers, our Olympians are actually capable of winning world titles.
Still an absolute scandal that the swimming finals especially have been switched to the mornings (overnight our time) just to suit NBC. It looks like Athletics have resisted that from a look at the schedules.

I was under the impression it would be hidden behind the MHEG.
A retune is needed anyway soon for BBC World Service moving mux.
I can't see that yet. My box isn't very good at listings beyond today. Can you confirm that it matches 7-8-9 in the Radio Times / DigiGuide channels?
edit: Some of it's appeared now. Seems Olympic Interactive Channel 7 is 301 and 8 is 302, so 9 must be the old BBC Parliament stream however that may be accessed.
next edit: Just noticed 305 has gone from my iDTV and both 303 and 305 are gone from my Freeview recorder box.

Presumably a rescan will be required at some point then and a stream will be set up in the 300's.

Notice too for the first time 301/302 have listing in the EPG.

Good, glad to see it wasn't just my Sony Bravia then.
In regards to my comment about about the channel being suspended, thats what it says on the MHEG caption appearing on LCN 81.

Still got 303/305 myself and BBC News Multiscreen is still working.
Notice the ugly Press RED dog is back on 301 too - it had been absent since the revamp of BBC Sport Interactive.
I would have thought they'd create a new channel in the 300's for the BBC Parliament stream rather than play it behind the MHEG considering the others can (unofficially) be watched without going through the interactive service.
Talking of which, although it is better now it's integrated I do hope they do a bit more with it for the Olympics - even if it's just tagging the Olympic rings onto the BBC Sport logo. Also think the Olympic section would benefit from being split into categories so things like the schedule and probably the medals table aren't at the bottom of a four page index.

303 and 305 are back now.
Maybe 303 has been tweaked to be the old BBC Parliament stream so that they sit side by side. After all, wasn't the video for BBC Parliament hidden there before it went fullscreen with 303 turning into an MHEG for those who hadn't retuned their boxes to get 81 as a fullscreen (and therefore were seeing that on 81), then later going blank and seemingly serving no purpose...
Also, is it just me or is it a bit silly having the Sports news on 301 and 1/4 of 305 at the same time? Surely that 1/4 could be used for something else during those times?

If you're wondering what the host broadcaster graphics will look like, the official video game uses them:

Certainly before it went full screen yes, but not so sure whether 303 is linked to any video stream since it changed as 305 hosts the news multiscreen, with 303 just hosting the MHEG overlay and things like the CBeebies games.
Does seem a bit stupid, and I do wonder in the week building up to the Olympics surely 301 could be used for something better than the looped news. The archive loop on 302 goes on for well over an hour, and surely with BBC Parliament closed it makes sense to use the space now, not leave it until Friday.
Going OT but with BBC Sport now having a full sized stream I was thinking wouldn't BBC News "Multiscreen" probably be better on Freeview at least as just one full sized stream looping between news, sport and weather every few minutes. I know that does lose some of it's interactivity, but I think waiting a few minutes for a full screen service might be a price worth paying.
