It's a pitty there was no proper close to the Olympics 2008 BBC programme, instead linking straight to this live concert (which it may just be me seems totally surplus to requirements and fairly generic 'live BBC concert')

Think the main credits ran at the end of the last Games Today yesterday. Like this year's Wimbledon, there was a very nice edit with the credits integrated into it rather than just slapping a crawl over the top.

Eddie Butler's 30 minute edit kind of rounded things off for me.

Cutting away from Boris Johnson was a very wise move.

Had to turn off the handover concert though when a bloody Atmoic Kitten appeared - absolutely **** all to do with the Olympics and a shame they feel the need to turn it into a parade of Z-list celebs.

You missed the bit where the stars of Last Choir Standing performed and Myleene Klass turned up to plug the final of said show!

I agree. Although not a Z-lister, Katherine Jenkins singing Nessun Dorma didn't work for me. Shes a fantastic singer but it's really a male song.

And obviously this concert is not going to happen without the wonderful Myleene having her say.

Indeed - the main credits ran before Final Score on BBC 1 yesterday at 4.30 and then again at the end of the last Games Today... and, agree, they were really nicely done - obviously produced by the same people who produced by the Eddie Butler edit. Beautiful.

Anything else I'd have thought you were kidding, but obviously not.

Does anyone know if this London thing is being shown anywhere internationally?

Have to say, although they are scraping the bottom of the barrel a bit for artists, and although everything is basic at best, it reminds me of the summer shows SVT organise throughout the summer, Allsang in Skansen and Sommarkrysset. All the music (well, most of it) is live, and they are huge events.

Don't think it's bad, but it's a bit of a let down after Beijing.

Well I know it's not being shown in Australia.

What has Phelps done to deserve this. He's 'the greatest olympian ever' and instead of attending the closing ceremony he's talking to Matt Baker for 30 seconds in London

They should have got Jake Humphreys to host instead Laughing

Brilliant show from Beijing, and fearing the worst I have watched London and was very pleasantly surprised by it's production and presentation, it could have been better yes, but boy it could also have been a lot, a lot worse too.

Worse still, he was used as a filler to lead into Will Young .

Poor sod.
