Is it wrong that I want China to get a few more, just to top the US on that table? Razz

I was thinking the same thing... Laughing

It's worth noting that not all US media are basing their medal tallies on the total number of medals won. CNBC (US), for instance, is definitely ordering their tallies on the basis of gold medals won, putting China on top.

China now top of the the NBC Medals table - http://www.nbcolympics.com/medals/index.html

There's a poll towards the bottom, asking which method of measuring success is more important.

Currently, number of gold medals is losing at 45% to total medals.

According to the BBC website, breaking news is that four more competitors have tested positive for banned substances this morning... horses!

The imagery is priceless.

The puns on the live text are priceless, absolutely fantastic stuff there - though some might find it (p)unbearable.

Mr Vorderman slurs Usian Bolt, implicity accusing him of taking drugs because his performance was (to paraphrase) too good to be true...in the same way a Christian slurs evolution because it just can't happen all on its own. He even includes the sort of racial profiling one expects of the BNP or NF.

I wonder if Mr Kelly saw an equally impressive world record performance from an athlete that was too good to be true - that of Rebecca Adlington beating the world record in the swimming - and if he too wants to asterisk her performance.

I don't think Voderman is with Des Kelly any more, meaning she has seen off 3 Des' in as many years.

Also an interesting article on the BBC News website about how the US is ranking their medals table which means they are always on top with medals won.
