Whats the obession with ratings??

Well the advertisers are obviously not happy when an ITV show attracts low ratings, especially in peak time. The adverts fund the programs.

However the BBC have been told not to chase ratings havent they?

Correct BBC have been told to concentrate more on quality programming rather than ratings, which I am all for.

BTW if they keep showing the f***ing Crazy Frog ad on ITV 1 they WILL keep losing viewers

Agree about the Bloody Frog!

I bet ITV are now wishing they have commissioned a third series of Pop Idol to run this spring!

Pop Idol has been axed hasnt it, in favour of X Factor which is coming back later this year. In the TV Times article about the top 50 programmes for Pop Idol it said 2001-2003 which implies it will never be back as they would have put 2001-present otherwise.

Pop Idol isn't being recommissioned Wink

It would have finished by this time of the year anyway
